If Holmes hammy stays good…. Flag. Cameron needs a blinder though.

Please be a flag for all the continued tears and conspiracy theories.
Flag followed by Rowell announcing he is coming to Geelong just to break bigfooty.

I'll copy what I've posted in other threads regarding the news article from Friday night - please remember there's no confirmation of the player or the club they play for:

With no new information from last nights story (which itself was void of details) it's time to move on - if folks want to keep discussing it, go to the Scandals & Rumour board when they've even moved on knowing speculation has no place in this situation

We won't tolerate speculation of a name or innuendo around players situation - take it elsewhere

And speaking of the Scandals & Rumour board, let's take not of the warning over there:

This may have been posted already. But I thought this was very interesting independent view

Hey, that's me! Thanks very much for sharing, hopefully Cats fans think it's a fair and balanced assessment of your chances this year. Apologies to even ask but if folks enjoyed, please consider subscribing (there's no paywall). I'm previewing all 18 clubs and there'll be weekly posts throughout the season. Alright, that's enough self-promotion!

Incredible work, friend. It's definitely fair and balanced from our side (helps that you struggle to come up with downsides!).

I'll definitely subscribe

What disappointments me with Danger is his lack of 'forward craft' and he is so predictable how he plays in the forward line. I thought over time he'd get better at it but there is nothing I've seen from him that suggests that. So I'm just left with the opinion that he can be a useful forward but that is all, which is so disappointing because a man of his talents should be far better and a greater threat when he moves forward but he's not. PS - Maybe it's not to late late for Danger to get a few tips from Gazza Snr, the same as Blighty gave tips to Gazza, coz it can make a world of difference when playing forward!
Finally someone else sees it.

Danger is terrific when blazing away + kicks snaps. Set shots are his weakness. He misses shots in front of goals. Dangerfield sometimes tries to do it all, when there are, on occasions better options ahead with Hawkins, Jezza, OHenry, Stengle, Miers et al were all closer to goals.

I don't think Danger is consistently down there enough to have developed forward craft. But if his contributions up forward are replicating Rohans tackling pressure, he also is good enough to replicate Hawkins leading ability.

So if he sorts out his set shots Danger is a weapon deep forward.

Zouz Kitty: the best kicking action for goal at the Cattery is NOT a MAN but a WOMAN and yes ZK 'the power of the pussy strikes again'. But in all seriousness ZK, Chloe Scheer for the girls has a fabulous kicking action, as good as it gets and Danger could do himself a very big favour, especially when kicking inside 40 metres in trying to emulate her kicking style and action...... that's of course 'if his man enough' to try to do it of course.

PS - Paddy also lacks 'forward footy craft' when he goes forward, he's to one dimensional in how he plays in the forward line, he should be alot more dangerous than what he is but hey it's never to late to say never.

I was in a medical facility with my dad last year. Sitting, chatting. We'd just lost to Carlton.
And I said 'we're done'.
I couldn't see us winning the next 3 games. Maybe one.

Well that turned upside down real quick.

But as Scott has always said. "It's not who you play, it's when you play them".
I never ever thought we could win 3 finals. Anything can happen.

24- 1 finals win, 1 loss
23- no finals
22- 3 finals wins, no losses
21- 1 finals win, 2 losses
20- 2 finals wins, 2 losses

We are there and abouts most years.
Impossible to know what this year brings

Gazza was always prodigious forward.
Booted over 60 goals for Hawthorn reserves one year.

That comment MT: 'the same as Blighty gave tips to Gazza' was attributed when Gazza Snr was asked by Malcome Blight Geelong's coach to spend much more time forward, especially when moved to full forward which Blight himself kicked 100 goals in a AFL season. Gazza Snr said himself that Blighty was an important factor to him learning a 'better forward craft' and being a better forward player because of it.

Wiki..... Blight is to date the only player to have kicked 100 goals in a season in both the VFL and the SANFL. He is also one of three players to have won the Brownlow Medal and the Magarey Medal.

Underrated is Blight isn't he?
I have spoken to many people who have watched the game all their lives and he often gets mentioned as one of the best ever.
In some ways, not too dissimilar to Mo Salah for Liverpool. Underappreciated when it comes to the world scene.

For sure MT: Malcome Blight is absolutely one of the best footy players I've seen play the game, a little like Alex Jesaulenko before him, they were mercurial and could do things others simple weren't capable of.

In political parlance, I would say the swing states are:

Holmes elevating to a truly elite player of the competition.

Smith staying fit, settling well and finding the top end of his Bulldog form.

Cameron remaining one of the top 2-3 key forwards of the competition.

SDK improving his ruck craft to competitive level and body holding up.

Danger retaining his midfield explosiveness to be used sparingly in emergency situations.

Stewart and Zac Guthrie staying healthy.

Dempsey, Humphries maintaining and improving level despite increasing opposition defensive pressure.

If all those fall our way, we will be in Prelim weekend, if 1-2 go against us, it will be hard. 3 and we would miss the 8.

Jack Bowes could be Eden Monaro.

Ruck / mids still on life support

The most likely ways that we could have improved in that area heading into this season all look shaky already

Conway, out for half the season

Smith, other knee blew up after one game

Bruhn, hit that 50-100 game mark where players can really kick on, interrupted pre season & currently injured

Cuthrie, interrupted pre season & currently injured, any glimmer of hope of getting anything out of him looks gone now

We allegedly have an easier fixture according to pundits, so really the plan should be to load up early in the season, bank wins and then heavily rotate late in the season. Doesn't always work out that way.

Wonder if we see Stewart in the midfield at all, I don't remember him being in there at all last night. Did he spend time there V Hawks?

Stewart was into the centre bounce at either the second or third for the game

He did spend a bit of time in there and would then drop back behind ball
