Not in terms of controlling community spread. That's what Ross was talking about.

But even the community spread is a little overstated, it wasn’t really running rampantly through the population. This wildly infectious disease that doesn’t discriminate has affected 0.3% of the Victorian population even after that huge outbreak we had...

At the height of our second wave, you still had more chance of winning Tattslotto than running into someone with Covid

And in the early days it was expanding exponentially, but you knew that. Doesn't fit your narrative.

you're happy if your waiter doesnt wash their hands after going to the loo?
Hasn't the last month of continually relaxed restrictions proven unequivocally that we are not living with this level of fear forever? No offence but I'm perplexed as to what's left to whinge about.
Caution does not equal fear we look left/right before we cross a road.

booooring rightism. just more dan bashing from the right dingers. daniel has done a top job righting a terrible situation.
Top job righting a situation he caused, it is a bit like patting someone on the back for calling an ambulance after they left the handbrake off their car and it squashed a bunch of people

Not if you worked in a covid ward & only told last week the mask was ineffective thru that time, yeah ed but !

Cops have been warning people from day one on masks, and many offered them a free one if they said they didn't have one

The only idiots being fined are the sovereign citizen morons

1,161 people fined $200 in the first month. You think they were all offered a free mask and declined?

i think nearly all of them will be one of two groups

1) the sovereign citizen idiots

2) morons who mouth off to cops

I dont know what life was like in geelong, but in frankston if you showed cops any mouth or attitude you were ****ed. too many people these days think "their rights" mean they can give s**t to the cops and they wont give it back

The attitude test is a pet hate of mine that's indicative of the lack of professionalism in our police force. Put a camera on every copper while they're out and make the video footage available to anyone who is charged or questioned by them.

I'm going with option 3.

3) you were talking s**t when you claimed that police were only giving out warnings, and offering free masks if people didn't have a mask.

We have seen so much heavy handedness from Victoria Police in the last few months that your quaint little anecdote from Frankston doesn't hold much water.

its vicpol, its always how they have rolled (and as per many previous comments, I expect them to be immune from criticism to this and the Person X saga)

you really have lived a privileged life if you think this is a covid thing

vicpol have ALWAYS ****ed anyone who doesnt show them respect. if you are dumb enough to mouth off about bullshit to them, you are a ******* moron

ffs i remember even as a kid, cops used to smack kids in the head with their bike pump for not wearing a helmet, and then would still drop a $50 fine on them

Yeah, the rest of Australia, Taiwan, New Zealand and a small handful of other places have been (to, ugh, quote Morrison) the 'gold standard' at fending off the virus and it's what we should all wish that everywhere else is like. But that didn't happen in Victoria and we had a large outbreak, and outbreaks of that size elsewhere have been at best suppressed for a short period of time before things go back to s**t or at worst they've just remained s**t.

You : Vicpol are nice guys who will let you off for not wearing a mask, and even hand you a free mask. Awww.

Also you : Vicpol are set of campaigners who will violently assault children, then fine them.

me: vicpol are nice guys AS LONG AS you dont * with them

stick to bitching about swedens success

It's not credible that the 1,161 people fined $200 in the first month for not wearing a mask all f’ed with the police. You haven't provided a shred of evidence for it.

of course i dont, but given people here have been bragging about telling cops to * off, making up fake medical excuses, and thinking you can just shove the mask on when you see them, im not surprised this state has 1100 morons

So, no evidence at all that the 1,161 people fined $200 in the first month for not wearing a mask told police to * off or faked medical excuses.

You are the Hilary Clinton of this board - castigating the thousands of morons/deplorables.

NDIS funding is limited to disability supports in school but is not education-based:
  • Self-care at school related to the student’s disability, like support with eating.
  • Specialised training of teachers and other staff about the specific personal support needs of a student with disability.
  • Specialist transport required because of the student’s disability (does not substitute parental responsibility).
  • Transportable equipment such as a wheelchair or personal communication devices.
  • Therapies a family and school have agreed may be delivered during school time but are not for educational purposes.
https://www.ndis.gov.au/understanding/ndis-and-other-government-services/education

The remainder is funded by the education system.

I don't know what you mean - you can read the Maths syllabus here.

In a practical sense, it does help more than just those students with a disability.

Take a class of 25 students in which you may have a student with ADHD, a student with dyslexia and a student with low IQ - all of which previously would have been ineligible for funding. These students, due to their diagnoses, may find it difficult to engage with the class content, and as a result, disengage from their learning. As they are disengaged, they are disruptive to the classroom learning environment - affecting the learning of the 22 other students. The teacher may spend a disproportionate amount of class time assisting these students to re-engage them - meaning that some/many of the 22 other students don't get the assistance (or opportunities for extension) they need.

Under this model, the students would be eligible for funding which could go towards an education support aide who can focus on assisting these students given their unique learning disabilities. This support can help avoid that initial point of disengagement - leading to a better classroom learning environment for all 25 students.

you sound knowledgeable, but lumping those students with diagnoses together as ‘disruptive’ is very lazy. Often the the opposite is true, they just quietly zone out. One or two of those diagnosis often get described as ‘well behaved’

not arguing that more couldn’t be done

There's no need to make up fake medical excuses. I've been raw dogging it for weeks outside with impunity because there's no requirement for anyone to provide evidence for their medical condition.

If questioned, anyone could have told the cop they had a medical condition. If I was questioned and pushed for further details, I would have asked the cop for his name, rank, and station so I could report him to his superiors.

We're not living in China yet.
