Selfish u say.
As someone who is watching the entire industry collapse and is seeing people complain about not going to the ******* gym when they get an exercise allowence, yes. I am saying selfish

Very rarely went to the playground as kid - rode bikes and kicking the footy was more my thing

This horseshit about playgrounds is in the same basket as people complaining about haircuts

Eat some cement and deal

If that is true, they're currently rocking a daily death rate of 92 per day on a 7 day average, with 27,000 new cases a day.

I haven't had time to read the Doherty Institute Report, but is there anywhere in it that says any Premier might need to accept like a similar percentage hit of cases and deaths?
Could you imagine it. 2 years of this s**t show and then that many deaths. No one in National cabinet deserves to be voted in ever again if that's the end result.

Especially considering women under 40 are still being told by their GPs to wait for Pfizer vaccines.

They HAVE to wait at least until everyone has had the chance to get vaccinated before these idiots let it rip.

Cool. It’s a selfish opinion I feel. Some people’s lives are based around gym, whether it be social, for work etc. it might not be your thing. Why be enraged.

Hope those women are also being told by GPs not to use the pill. Would be a ridiculous situation if they were taking meds that could cause clots, while refusing a jab that is much more important.

Article 31 Human Rights Charter.

"States Parties recognize the right of the child to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts."

Do you genuinely believe children can only play at playgrounds? The parks are not closed.

Thing the vaxx is the solution, think again, latest news from Israel :

What is clear is that “breakthrough” cases are not the rare events the term implies. As of 15 August, 514 Israelis were hospitalized with severe or critical COVID-19, a 31% increase from just 4 days earlier. Of the 514, 59% were fully vaccinated. Of the vaccinated, 87% were 60 or older. “There are so many breakthrough infections that they dominate and most of the hospitalized patients are actually vaccinated,” says Uri Shalit, a bioinformatician at the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) who has consulted on COVID-19 for the government. “One of the big stories from Israel [is]: ‘Vaccines work, but not well enough.’”

Nobody needs a playground. Build some Lego, make a cubby house, play board or card games, throw the ball for the dog, throw a frisbee, kick a soccer ball, play volleyball with a balloon, the list is unlimited. If all else fails, read a BOOK.

Of course they can do that, but can they do it with a friend from down the road? ..... maybe they can zoom a play session with a friend

In which case it’s then lockdown to zero then shut borders until it burns out worldwide… clearly not feasible but if it overwhelms hospital systems in vaccinated countries it maybe what has to be done. Fortress Australia plan.
At least we’d have excuse to deny any future refugees amirite sqomo?

HUN site saying atleast 40 cases tomorrow.. WTF?
I can't see the detail because of paywall. Better not be that f'n engagement party.

As others have said above, it's mostly connected to the Day 13 tests for Al-Taqwa College. But it's important to note that the leak was as of 7pm tonight, so there's still another 5 hours of results to be added. It could be significantly higher than 40.

Very interesting that they've leaked case numbers like this.

"The Herald Sun understands at least 40 new locally acquired infections had been confirmed as of 7pm on Wednesday night.

With the results of day 13 testing due for those quarantined in connection to Al-Taqwa College – all in isolation while infectious – the numbers were expected to spike.

It is understood the college community has been very cooperative.

But there are fears the virus has spread in Melbourne’s homeless community, with hospitals on standby and the Department of Health preparing in case of a major outbreak.

Health authorities are investigating the movements of a homeless sex worker, who is among a string of mystery cases centred around St Kilda"

The higher the numbers the earlier the leak

we (hospitals) have been asked to rapid covid swab (rapid being a relative term meaning hours not half a day) any person who attends from homelessness irrespective of reason for presentation.

I think it’ll be more of combined approach. Vaccines plus some form of quarantine, indoor masking and some social distancing rules, and hope the combination will prevent lockdowns. As well as isolation for known positives. Israel basically got to 60% (total population), essentially stopped vaccinating for months, removed pretty much all restrictions and did a victory lap.

In addition many of their vaccinations were late last year, so now they’re on a mad booster spree.

From Anthony Macali:

Day 13 Al Taqwa tests due, so all of these cases would be in iso.

Personally I need to get a test for day 13 Caroline Springs exposure.
Putting that info behind the paywall is very rubbish by them.

It’s not in the article.. I read it on Twitter. He seems an expert with anything Covid and usually reliable.
It is in the article, but it’s behind the paywall. Quoted above.

If you were not of a mind to trawl Twitter and not able to get behind the paywall then you might well see the headline alone and not have the context.
