similar size to their yellow shirt protests.
I see the role for vaccine passport to allow double vaccinated more freedoms at say 50-60% double jab level and once we get to 80% double jab then theres no further need.
Others have said that there could be worksafe issues for individual businesses not "doing diligence to reduce infection risk" - personally I'm not sure that it plays out that way as vaccinated persons can also carry virus, but at lower risk; but it seems its all designed for lawyers to parasite profit
I could cop a temporary thing right now if it meant opening up.

But this s**t is never temporary.

And it isn’t just some quiet thing to allow you to travel or perform certain work. It’s a worldwide advertisement of your medical status.

“Brucewe’re all going to Sizzler for dinner. You coming?”

“I, uh, have to, uh, weed the garden.”

“You said that last week.”

*Bruce will actually be fully vaccinated on Thursday FWIW.

Im distinctly pro vax however, it has not been lost on me that the same people who sought to force a business owner to make a gay wedding cake in the name of discrimination, are now actively encouraging business to discriminate against people on the basis of vaccination. It speaks to the hypocrisy of the progressive left that is so short sighted in its virtues.
I'm not sure it's a left right thing even. I think this one's more around people's fears of covid.
Our government is a disgrace in so much as they have us at a point where masses of people are overly afraid of covid and vaccines.

What’s left/right about it?

I only think vax passports will be a thing until we reach the 95%+ mark when coverage is so good it actually doesn't matter that much
Yeah I’m thinking a year or so. By then everyone will be vaxxed (with boosters) or caught the disease. Though this virus does tend to defy predictions.

What’s left/right about it?
"The left" believe no one should be picked on for a belief they have. So if they are gay, straight, Muslim or Christian they should be allowed the same things as each other and everyone else. However, "the left" believe anti-vaxers shouldn't get rights as people who are vax'd. So they are hypocrits and shouldn't be trusted

"The right" want everyone not them picked on so they can be trusted if you fit in with them.

FWIW people that use catch-all terms like "the left"and "the right" rub me the wrong way

I'll take it.

A year visiting pubs that have locked out the tin foil hat wearers will be bliss.

So then it is wait until 80% vaccination then no vaccination passport ie we all wait in longer lockdown?

Let’s be clear the “left” believe that an opinion is just that an opinion and not something which should be used as an excuse to behave counter to the accepted rules of the state. Ie no special value to religion beyond it being an opinion. Same with an opinion to be anti vaccination- not an excuse to be counter to the rules of the state.

I would be ditching vaccination passports at that point because the burden from disease at that point should be low (like you say it doesn’t matter as much)

Looks like NSW want to add this to their App. I’d say we’d do same/similar

As part of the government’s preparations to ease restrictions, Digital Minister Victor Dominello is finalising upgrades to the Service NSW app which will display vaccination status when checking into venues.

I get how it could work. But whats the difference. If i'm not allowed to ask someone to provide proof that they have a medical exemption because of invasion of privacy, then surely asking them to prove they have been vaccinated is as well?

It all should be part of the extended plan, 70% we can do X, 80% we can do Y, 80%+low case numbers we can do everything but will need vax proof, 95% back to normal.

Just need to get the messaging out

Mate this is simply not true.

Have a look at all of the anti-Catholic bigotry sent my way on this very forum.

You and your other anti-vaxer friends will be in those numbers one day, nothing surer

Nice melt

I'm not an anti vaxer, I support other vaccines. I refuse to put the covid vaccine in my body because you or anyone else can't say what might happen as a result of taking it after a long time as it hasn't been tested. The risk of bloodclots is bad enough.

Currently no cases in my home suburb nor where I travel to work. I know that won't last.

I think what’s proposed is passport AFTER 80%. I’ll happily stand corrected on this. Very happily.
Had thought that nsw were talking about it post 70% first jab in a sense (vaccinated can socialise with vaccinated although maybe not a formal passport and it’s social not commercial) I haven’t heard the specifics of Dan plan (Doherty modelling doesn’t consider vaccination passport at all let alone in post 80% world)

Says the anti-vaxer

My only wish is that we set up a 'leper colony' for you anti-vaxers like we used to

The behaviour of some catholic priests and the behaviour of the organisation in protecting the same likely drives anti catholic opinions.
