House prices gone up x8 times in 21 years, wages gone up x4 is that about right?

by the same token investors cant get rental rises of x4 let alone eight so there may be a braking effect.

or average wage earners get pushed further and further to the fringe, or stacked up in dog boxes
The other thing to note is that nowadays in a lot of cases most households have both parents working, whereas in the olden days (going back 30 years) it was one wage per family. Thereby disposable income is higher now allowing for the greater increase in pricing.

Will the results of the WA state Election be repeated in Victoria in November 2018? That is, the incumbent government (the Andrews Labor government) being tossed out of office after just one term by the Coalition led by Matthew Guy?

Very unlikely.

Victorians for the most part are a sucker for Dan Andrews and his deflection from any bad news.

Those of us who didn't vote ALP in 2014 have a clear conscience.....other people however, don't whinge about the government you forced onto us.

It will all come down to the law and order question. If that is fixed, then all the level crossings removed , stadiums built, and rail laid down will be enough to return a second term you would think.

Dit the results match the polling? if so, Not. WA govt got two terms anyway

The problem for Opposition Leader Matthew Guy is, if Malcolm Turnbull is still the PM by the time of the 2018 state election, and decided to help Guy's election campaign, it will turn a lot more undecided voters to Labor, thus ensuring Daniel Andrews of a second term in office.

Just bought my first ip and am laughing at everyone in here spruiking a bubble. Andrews just artificially inflated my equity a fortnight later. Plebs.

Those deflections are about what is really happening in this state, not the Herald-Sun driven biased nonsense...the crime numbers aren't anywhere near as bad as is being made out. Why the rise? Not because crimes have increased - their reporting has increased. Use what is left of your brians maniac...realise that the state couldn't be any better run than it is now and that Andrews is safe as houses. Look at the polls, they tell the whole story.

Ok

Well they are obviously worried about the current polls. The backflip on the juvenile prison in the treasurers seat confirmed that.

Obviously still a long way from the election and water under the bridge to pass but lately Victorian Labor have been on a downward trend you would think.

John Howard was great at selling other peoples stuff off to his friends.

Andrews however is rather great at replacing it, however could borrow more instead of subsidizing ownership with the inequitable private sector.

lol if you believe crime stats said on msm. Statistics can be manipulated in any way to make them look better/worse.

Governments and police command always put out figures that look better than what they actually are.

If they're s**t when they're released for public consumption then you can be pretty confident that they're actually atrocious.

Not sure what about that, from the Victorian government's own website, is not as bad as what it looks.

Well that is not pretty in any sense of the word.

Wonder what the ALP apologists will have to say about this.

They need to make the move on him now. He's not likeable enough to be elected for another 4 years. It's politically suicide taking him as leader to next election.
It's not about being likeable, it's about making the best decisions for your state and your people. Anyone who votes for someone purely because they're "likeable" has no clue.

Hitler was a likeable figure to many people once upon a time, and that worked out real great aye...

Well he hasn't made good decisions for the state. We have the highest crime rate since Ned Kelly days, electricity prices are sky rocketing, and we're getting more and more "safety cameras". Not since Gillard has a leader been so loathed by the voters.
