We're back :thumbsu:

Johnny here's a tip for your successor.

If you treat people like slaves, sooner or later they will turn on you and throw you out.
Who ever dreamed up workchoices cost you everything

You're back?

So we can look forward to neanderthal unionists ****ing up our country again and driving productivity down?

Can't wait!

International obligations and basic human decency get very short shrift from you right wing fundies.

You must have missed the news. Not only is Rudd keeping offshore processing but wants to push back boats via his new coast guard.

BTW the alp introduced mandatory detention in case you forgot.

Oh yes you do !!!! Bite down hard, maybe that'll help with the pain.

No once again moron #321, my issue is with idiots who think Australia is such a horrible place to live.

It's not, it's brilliant.

I stated whom I voted for and why in another thread.

So trying to suggest I vote Liberal makes you look like a right plonker :)

Indeed we shall.

I suspect he will follow the Blair path of caution in his first term.

Maybe if the Greens get the balance of power you might see some deals re your progressive agenda.

Certainly there's going to be some baby steps in the first term, partly because that is Rudd's nature and partly because the Senate is by no means going to be easy for a Labor Government to negotiate - needing the Greens, Family First and Xenophon to all agree.

I sent an e-mail to Rudd's office earlier in the week asking for assurance that he would make an apology to indigenous people, and the answer I got back was that yes, he will.

I'm not expecting gay marriage, but Rudd will start with amending the 58 discriminatory laws currently on the statutes. Civil unions might have to wait until Family First no longer has a share of the BOP, unless a Coalition Senator crossed the floor (which is certainly possible).

The Pacific solution is no more. There will still be mandatory detention - I have to accept that - but I am hopeful that we will get a maximum period of detention followed by supported living arrangements in the community. I will be lobbying whoever the Minister for Immigration is on this point.

I'm also convinced there will be a republican referendum. Probably a two-stage process, with the first question being 'do you support a republic' and the second offering two potential models for that republic. We will end up with an elected head of state.

Not if you follow the correct procedures like so many people do world wide year in, year out.

I came from another country to live here, but i did it the correct way.

I didn't pay a shitload of money to be brought illegally into Australians waters.

You are ****ing full of shit dude :thumbsu:

And you're a total sucker.

I have some land in Nigeria for sale, want to buy some?

I'm glad my family is unlikely to ever be in a position to require compassion from you.

What is it about seeing small children being abused that gets you off you sicko.

Do you support manditory detention of small children?

(You're probably too gutless to answer that one and thus admit that you got off on the abuse of small children)

Abused?

Were they the kids sexually abused BY other detainees?

And here i thought all these refugess were noble creatures.

It was Labour who brough about the accord. The last wages breakout was when Mr. Stinky Howard was treasurer.

Productivity growth was considerably higher when Howard took over than now.

But hey, I'm talking facts, and if you took facts ito acount you could never justify your support of the prefered party of child abusers.

You best response would be to totally ignore the facts and keep spurting the propaganda and spin which you have been sucked in by.

So you'd be happy to lock your own child up for several years untill they are permanently damaged?

You really are very sick aren't you. No wonder you support Howard and get you rocks off from the detention and abuse of small children.

No you're talking shit.

I'm talking about working in and around various unions for 20 years.

**** your stupid statistics and politicians spin on everything, get out in the real work place and see the shit these arse clowns cause to work productivity and general thugery and racketeering on work sites.

Yes, I support mandatory detention of all illegal immigrants.

How much compassion do you feel for all those small children stuck in refugee camps across the world?

The same people that cant afford the airfare to Indonesia and cant afford to pay people smugglers.

The same people who are denied refugee places by the queue jumping payers of people smugglers.

let them rot eh?

Ummm putting your own child on a boat which isn't sea worthy to illegally enter another nations waters IS child abuse in itself.

You really are slow on the uptake you know.

It sounds like you are the one who needs help here sunshine.

I know.
And escaping that utopia in Iraq. What horrible parents would not want their children to grow up under him.

You Right wing fundies will use anything to justify your insatiable apetite to see small children suffering, but you are just so full of contradictions.

If Sadam was the wonderfull person that you seem to believe he was (He tortured children so you probably loved him), why did you support going to war with him, unless it was that the result was likely to be bombs dropped on civilians including children.

I bet you have been really pleased with the 10s of thousands of child casualties since the start of that war.

A key difference between people like you and people like me is that you believe that there are circumstances where blatant child abuse can be justified.

I on the other hand believe child abuse is wrong.

It sounds like you are the one who needs help here sunshine.

It must seem to a right winger like you that someone who thinks child abuse is wrong is in desperate need of help.

Again I ask. What is it about seeing small children suffering that gets your rocks off?

You are dead right in that remark we do live in the greatest country in the world & that is why we removed Howard & his coalition in no uncertain terms.

As for the title of this thread well i will say Howard always stood by his convictions even if he did tweak them to suit his purpose of "re-election at all cost"

Gun control was ok & the superannuation tweaks i can live with but that's about all i can think of after a night of celebration.

Oh dear.

I was a child in a potential war zone, and my parents took me from there through the correct channels and legally into Australia.

So don't talk shit to me please, because I have life experience in this area, unlike you who jsut waffle on about shit you think you know someething about.

People who actually celebrate political events are truly ****ed in the head.

Sorry thats harsh, but that's how i view politics.

GF >>>>>>>>>>>> No Reason >>>>>>>>>>>> Politics

I appreciate that he is gone.

The good: gun control, East Timor, VSU and the GST.

The bad: WorkChoices, Iraq, slashing education funding, lack of government accountability, stigmatising welfare, politicising the public service, the Pacific solution, pandering to bigotry and prejudice, discrimination against homosexuality, abandoning reconciliation, killing the Republic, smashing civil liberties.. you get the picture.

Pretty much agree and would add fiscal responsibility up to Feb 2001 (the good) and massively increasing middle class welfare (the bad).

He lost the plot after Feb 2001 and only Beasley and Latham saved him.

You are going to be very disappointed in Rudd.

He has already made clear he will continue with abridged version of Pacific Solution, wont bring in gay marriage, wont indulge in token reconcilation/treay agenda for aboroginals and wont hold a referendum on the republic.

Thats a fair portion of your list. Disregard politicisation of PS (they all do that) and it doesnt leave you much.

This reminds me a huge amount of when the Tories were completely smashed in the UK. Blair was the new shining thing. Camelot all over again.

Now a real hate figure for the left.

Agreed. Not much of substance will change.

Well this isn't a topic for you 'Laborites' to troll in.

Please post about John, how he represented our country for eleven years and turned it into what it is today (an economic success).

:)
Yes he 'turned it' into a strong economy. ;);)

What have we had, 16 consecutive years of growth ? Amazing how John did all of that from 11 years in office. ;)
