Howe many?

You know this guys season should be over. Short right punch is 2-4 and the sweeping leg(kick) to intentionally trip with the result that the impacted player does not play again this season is worth 3-5. Gives him plenty of time to re-assess how he goes about playing that shit role called tagger. If that is how he is being coached then Clarkson should be accountable also. WE know it is part of the Hawthorn Culture.

i'm reading the updates, and this is another example of the afl getting hung by their own vague interpretations of injury and intent, in spite of their efforts to attribute exact grades to everything. they can't escape that there will always be interpretation.

O'Farrell suggests that a knee reconstruction, a compound fracture of the leg or a career-ending injury are examples of a higher case of impact. He says that is in no way trying to denigrate Fisher's injury.

Hopefully Howe cops a meaningful penalty, which reflects the seriousness of his transgressions. For too long the Hawks and Clarkson have been pushing the boundaries under their mantra of playing unsociable football. Elbows, sly punches, knees, choking, and burying their opponents into the ground have been a hallmark of Hawthorn’s play under Clarkson’s reign.

Every team has players who engage in rough, unseemly tactics from time to time. However it seems that the Hawks adopt these tactics against their opponents systematically, rather than just from time to time. Blokes such as Mitchell, Hodge, Lewis, Gibson, Lake, Stratton, Sicily, and now Howe have been largely getting away with thuggish behaviour right throughout Clarkson’s coaching tenure.

I suppose though, it’s not surprising that they play in this manner. After all, their coach has no qualms, and has never expressed any regrets about coward punching an unsuspecting player off the ball. Just ask Ian Aitken.

Boo hoo how precious are you? You sure your not Robbo or Ralphie going undercover?.

AFL fights back
If a broken leg - "a major bone" and missing the rest of the season isn't worthy of a severe impact charge, "what is?", the AFL asks.

Howe won't be back this year, may as well put him out of his misery and get it over with. A win for the media and a win for the hawk hating community.

A bit light for a kick like that and given the way the hawks defence argued their case it looks like they knew that careless and severe and 3 weeks was the best possible outcome for their player.

Disgusting penalty from the Tribunal, but not much you can do when the defence pleads guilty to the only item that could possibly be reviewed. Horrible line of argument by Hawks counsel.
