Posts at the opposite end of the spectrum of life

On a lighter note, it is go slow day for me at work........i have completed all my deadlines... no emails off any importance, taking it easy and i am leaving early for a round of golf at the Yarra Bend Golf Course - life is Beautiful.

Mind you, I am in that non vocal majority who believe a golf course is a good way to destroy a decent walk! :D

Going to vent.

The reason our society is going to utter shit is due to the complete and utter patheticness of both our legal system and our police force. Both are completely irrelevant and useless and only purpose they serve is to act as a deterrent to those intelligent enough to not commit crimes anyway. I'm sure there are some exceptions but in general they can all get ****ed.

Hmmm, I gather things did not go the way you believe natural justice should go.

Does not sound like you had a good experience.

Yes there, are exceptions in relation to our police force. I know many good police. I had an example of a great policeman the other day, who used his commonsense and overrides a 'civic compliance' decision, which meant that my infringement notice was waived for a significant amount of cash and of course I did not need to go to court. This police was great, he went out of his way to look at my case and made a judgement. This is a good experience i can share.

Yes, I have had many bad experiences. You must remember that like anyone doing their job, police are just following orders.

Re the legal system, I know a few criminal lawyers who can share some shocking stories.

Re: Clarkson surely is under the pump

It's one of the great pleasures and frustrations of parenthood isn't it when you see your actions and words emanating from the little ones.
It's hilarious when the young fella gets all serious, stares me straight in the eye and says "you're not listening to me, I want to play with my trains"

You're probably already across it LP, but Adobe CS5 has really good built in tools for creating web pages straight out of InDesign. WordPress is also great for creating simple, professional sites.

Comfortable with photoshop but the other areas of CS5 (apart from soundbooth) are foreign territory for me - I simply don't have time to build up the familiarity needed to produce something good in Dreamweaver. WordPress - took a look at it and again got a little scared. Came across Squarespace which looks to have hit the sweet spot. Having issues with alignment/column widths, but overall really versatile and comfortable to use.

I'm getting a lot of the serious stuff too. Very keen to tell me to settle down at the moment.

Dreamweaver is obviously the CS5 component designed for it, but you can create web pages straight out of Photoshop. I don't have hands on experience, but the guys in the office do a bit of web design work and have checked out quite a few of the options. One of them reckons iWeb isn't too bad as a basic tool. Their main bit of advice is to check the pages across all the browsers. If you've found something you're comfortable with, that's half the battle won.

Ah, parenting, hard work that's for sure. My 3 year old bosses us all around, including her older brother, and its impossible to reason with her.

LP, why not go to RMIT or some place like that where they have a multimedia course, offer it as a paid project and just brief them.

You'll find extremely good people at those places.

And your time cost would be much more etc

Aaaaaaahhhhh great idea!

Probably too far down the track for this project, but there are many more on the way. This is good!

LP, if you need some visual design assistance, I'm happy to run an eye over anything you produce. I'm not a web designer per se, but I have done a bit of graphic designy things in my time.

I also am very well acquainted with CS5 :).
