No real point in delaying things anymore a player will eventually test positive to it either now or in 3 months.
No real point? As puke said in another thread, we have a very real shot at getting the total cases of this thing down to zero for the foreseeable future. Across the whole of Australia. That would be massive, and would effectively mean the entire country could become a giant quarantine hub, effectively negating any risks that would come with domestic travel.
But we're not there yet. Slacken off too early and you risk a second wave. That then puts all of society even further back.
That's just from a broader safety perspective. From an AFL point of view, if footy returns in it's expected format, that puts four teams at a massive disadvantage as our own coach has acknowledged this morning.
So yeah, I'd say there's a point in delaying things.
