The problem with the SR-71 is that pilots need to spend 24 hours in a decompression chamber before flying to reduce the % of nitrogen in their bloodstream.

... unless the CIA in conjunction with Skunkworks at Lockheed Martin have discovered a way to naturally lowering the nitrogen percentage in the bloodstream permanently. Maybe Ben/NotBen would have been Caleb Daniel's height if not for this experimental medical technology?

The McKay cover-up just has so many layers to it.
