I'm watching episode 6....

They know the cop/hairdresser were at a pub in Ballarat. The publican says he dropped them in the middle of town at Lydiard St (it's not far from the station). There's a phone tower near the pub and a phone tower near the station. The pub and station are bout 1 - 1.2km away.

The hunters say they cross reference phones picked up by the tower near the pub with the one near the centre of the city. There's going to be thousands of phones being pinged by tower A, thousands by tower B, and given the towers are so close, lots that are being pinged by both. Even if they had an approximate time for the phone calls at the pub, and what time they were dropped off in town, there's going to be lots of numbers pinged by both.

Would they be able to access names of people connected to all those numbers so they can see which are burner numbers? I wouldn't have thought so. Maybe if they were police, but a private company? Sounds like a privacy breach.

  • Fugitive teams must move every 48 hours and travel at least 8km
  • They cannot return to the same place twice or use the same resource more than once
  • Teams have to use the ATM twice during the competition, but it must be on different days
  • Fugitives are given a one-hour head start before the Hunters are alerted
  • No one can give the team money.
  • Producers “can create or take away a rule at any point”.

--------------------

So straight to the atm (i think they have $300 on the card), draw out $290
Apparently they're also allowed to take $500. Surely that's not right?

I expect there is also a producer with each group keeping the show moving, also on their phone every ten minutes checking their social media, who would be giving away their location.

But if it were a competition where the producer, the camera operator and the contestant all received the same prize money and it went up each day they weren't caught - with some mechanism for sending the recorded footage back each day that didn't expose their location then it would effectively become a show teaching people how to evade capture and survive on the land.

Creative solutions to getting drinking water and food etc.

Which is counter productive.

The cameraman is the producer.

Somehow these detectives can access cctv from anywhere at the snap of a finger even shops and restaurants.

The whole show is bullshit.

Yep, I'm sure most shops have CCTV that is just a closed circuit into a recorder, not connected to the iNet in any way, suppose after they finished filming they went to the relevant places to get copies of their footage and then recorded the base action at a later date.

Think they also need to get someone to fact check their footage, last episode showed an overhead shot of Kyneton, they must've built that Bunnings and Big W in the last few weeks as they weren't there when I was I was in Kyneton in mid July.

We didn't get through tonight's episode cos it was a bit crap. The Hunter HQ guys really ruin this show.

It should be called Figjam HQ with how much the guys there seem to rate themselves.

Cancelling the card was total bs. I thought it was in the rules to be able to use it? Just seemed like cheating to me
The rules say they can change the rules at any time....

But you lack credibility if you have different rules for different people.

just catching up on ep 7. Wow Nick and Lavinia were stitched up.. first of all their cancelled bank card because the hunters were desperate, and then they somehow randomly stumbled across cctv footage of the train station??? 100% the cameraman/producer snitched them in, what a crock. And then Nick at the end said he split with Lavinia that morning and the hunters were shocked, yet they just saw cctv footage of them together at the train station?!!? So many f***ing holes.

Who knew that this show would turn out so good for the gays?

Who knew the queer community were so good at hiding? (Spoiler alert: all of us did)

Inverloch is quite an isolated place to have to get to. This ending seems quite convoluted… it’s not how it would work if you were really on the run.
