Very good days entertainment out there, the HRV do a great job with their carnivals, unfortunately the only downer for the day was that mongrel wind which was as strong as I've ever seen at a racetrack and no doubt impacted on the racing a bit.

The Trotters Championship was a super race, the two fancied runners running the quinella and they all stepped away cleanly and I think there was only one galloper during the race which was also good to see.

Highlight had to be Sting Lika Bee in the Hunter Cup, that MV PA system was pretty loud all day where I was sitting but I couldn't hear the call over the last 100m with the roar of the crowd. Very popular winner.

Mick Molloy needs to learn what a 'trot' is! Good concept though is the pony trot.

Had a good day. The highlight was watching the Wife`s cousin absolutely smash this one particular bookie. He took plenty off him on Stinglika and followed up for afters on the last, this poor bastard didn`t know wether he was coming or going. Punting poetry.

Had a wonderful day also, except for the wind. Our horse went very good, sitting 3 wide with a trail for 1300. Gavin was super pleased with his run, especially with that head wind up the strait. Charlton here we come!!

Ended up in the board room till it closed, then into the big house for more punishment. Don't even have a clue what time we got home, but im paying for it now. Thank god for RDO's.

I would still much rather a Saturday night Hunter Cup.

Just on the harness racing can someone tell me how much the Geelong Cup used to be worth? Its $25,000 this year, I'm sure it was one of the major country cups once upon a time. I recall hearing that the club went broke down there but still the Terang Cup is $25,000 and the Charlton Cup is $20,000. Even the Warragul Cup is worth $25,000!

Pretty poor for a town of Geelongs size that their cup seems to have been reduced to a stock standard country cup.
