If i was a team that despartely needed a foward id take Walker easily. But i'd rather Hurley at Carlton because we need KPP all over the place.

I hate this kind of poll, because the right answer is an Essendon player - and anyone that disagrees instantly throws the BIASED! card at you.

But come on, much as I rate Walker and would comfortably slot him in at Essendon; Hurley is the clear choice.

No it wouldn't, Fev was his teams no1 forward Walker is Behind Tippett, would be like Chris Grant / Browns agression vs Scott Lucas.

Walker is probably our number one forward now. Certainly will be next year:D;).

Turns 22 next month and has kicked 95 goals.

That is amongst the best in the league. Buddy and Jack Riewoldt the only two who have done better early in their career?

Edit, just checked, Riewoldt had 78 goals, but from far less games.

Anyway, it is a hard poll to vote in. Personally I would like Hurley at my club as a defender and Walker as a forward. Now that would be a couple of great young bookends.

I don't see that as a slight on Tex, more of a bonus for him and the club that he has such a dominant marking presence as Tippett taking a lot of the opposition focus off him (something I'm sure Fev would have absolutely loved at Carlton at some point). In addition, I've spoken to players at the Crows who have remarked on the similarities between Walker and Fevola. I think the Pav/Fev comparison is accurate.

If we are strictly talking as a forward:

The hyped up Hurley > Walker
Walker > Hurley in reality

You'd seriously want Walker to be part of your team for the next ten years as opposed to Hurley?

There are intangibles in football so yes, this may be a subjective topic, but I'd much rather have a character like Hurley amongst our boys than Taylor Walker, other than the fact that Hurley will be the better player, anyway.

Unfair comparison considering walker will never leave the goal square...

This is what I was talking about earlier in this thread. WTF has Walker done wrong other than sip a beer whilst watching the footy. Didn't Hurley beat up a taxi driver or something?

I made a mistake by assuming the characters of the two boys.
That's more just my perception rather than the reality.

Apologies to Walker.

Have you ever seen Hurley play?
If you have you would realise Hurley has played 2/3 of his career as a Key pos Defender, he has beaten N Riewoldt, Tredrea, j Riewoldt, Pods and many others as a KPD, really only got towled up by J Brown, to be switched forward and show how good a player as a forward he could become.

LMFAO.
You would play 1 of the most competitive players in the game, 1 of the most promising KPF in the game as a defender.
Start Watching him please, you may want to be educated on the topic if you are going to compare him to another player.

So what is it?

Why wouldn't the AFC play him as a key defender if does James Hird does this 2/3rds of the time as you have just admitted?

If Michael Hurley played at the Crows, he would be a key defender in place of Daniel Tarlia.

For the record, Michael Hurley would be in front right now but i'd predict in 5 years time, I'll take Taylor Walker thanks but Hurley will be a very good player.

Luckily for Essendon you have Walker and we Hurley.

Lucky hay?

But dude, don't take the smart arsed response with me. You're the one who contradicted yourself by saying a club would never play him as a key defender when your actual club already does this. :thumbsu:

Walker Walker Walker, how could a player with his tallent play like this, 95% time on ground.

Gibson vs Walker
21 kicks vs 3
9 H/Balls vs 1
15 Marks vs 3
6 Tackles vs 0
151 Dream Team vs 22
129 Super Coach vs 24

Hurley is a player you can build a team around. Walker is not.

Both very talented youngsters but Hurley has a genuine presence when he is out on the field that Walker doesn't. He's also far more flexible than Walker, who strikes me as a pure lead/mark forward with a few tricks ala Fevola.

Would you take the gun CHF or gun FF? CHF everyday of the week for mine.
