I went Hurley. I tell you what the last couple of weeks he has looked Scary good. Marks the ball at speed and at the top of his jump. Also got a bit of shit about him and can go back effectively.

As much as i hate the Bummers i really do enjoy watching Hurley play. Take nothing away from Walker though and id be happy with either at Tigerland i just reckon Hurley is about to explode.

amazing what a bit of fitness can do! :p

Yeah and a bit of maturity. Takes the bigger kids a little longer and i think you saw glimpses of what Hurley could be over the years but just looks like hes about to stamp himself.

Hurley finally does in two games what Walker has been doing all year. Victorian morons with the attention span of a goldfish vote Hurley.
I believe the OP asked which you would prefer for the rest of there careers. Dont see the problem with anyone voting Hurley.

Walker hasn't gotten more than 20 touches in any game this year.

20 touches in a game? What an arbitrary number to pluck out of the air to compare key forwards. Are you suggesting Walker not getting 20 touches in a game (while he averages 3.5 goals a game and 4.1 goal contributions a game) diminishes his performances so far?

Here's a few more convenient numbers I found:

2012 15+ disposal games:
Hurley: 5/10
Walker: 8/11

2012 disposals per game:
Hurley: 14.5
Walker: 14.8

2012 tackles per game:
Hurley: 0.9
Walker: 1.6

People are certainly entitled to vote for Hurley and he had a fantastic game on the weekend, no doubt. But I think what is being alluded to is that Walker has had over half a dozen of those games already this season and if he could stop getting bloody suspended every 5 seconds would be a shoe in as an All-Australian key forward along with Buddy Franklin. He just doesn't get the same exposure a young Victorian talent like Hurley would get because Essendon are playing in front of the Melbourne footballing community with big crowds and TV audiences on a weekly basis.

Maybe Walker just does not hit the contest like Hurley, or have captaincy written all over him, maybe Walker has not got the pressence of Hurley. this could be a possibility

He isn't setting a very good example then is he?
I love Walker and think he is an amazing player, but I just couldn't let this one go.

Dont let the Victorian media influence you too much, they've already done a pretty good job at painting him as a thug. Hurley is more of a thug than Walker (see cab incident).

Umbelievably dumb post. Walker is an on-field leader of the Crows.
Here's a good way to settle this, let's put both our teams best defenders on the other! So its :
Walker vs Fletcher
Hurley vs Johncock

Pretty obvious who wins.
Oh and Johncock is my faviourite non-Essendon player.

Umbelievably dumb post Mk II. Typical Victorian. How about..

Walker vs Fletcher
Hurley vs Rutten

Assuming both match ups are one on one than again Adelaide would win that one quite comfortably. Yes Fletcher has been a great player but he would get smashed against Walker if given no hand from the rest of your defense. Good luck having Hurley smash Rutten.

Well Rutten is a discrace and Fletcher can smash anyone one on one so its an easy win.

gets in trouble last year for drinking, Suspended twice this season, kicks a North player and then throws a North player into a post, great leader. pretty funny stuff.
I'm pretty sure he actually did none of those things and it was just clever editing by the Victorian media out to get him.

Has Walker ever hit a taxi driver?:D

Jonathon Brown has always been a fantastic on-field leader, and he used to get reported every 2nd game. The same could be said about Barry Hall or Cam Mooney. All brilliant leaders who got carried away with their aggression from time to time.

It's not about suspensions or fines, it's about Walker's on-field presence and the way his actions on the field can inspire his team-mates to success. Kicking a goal from 60m when we're down by 2 goals to bring us back into it or using his size and physicality to impose himself on the game and intimidate the opposition. These are things that Walker now does on a regular basis so it's definitely fair to say he has become an on-field leader for us.
