He's pretty good, I'd certainly take him at Port in a microsecond if the opportunity presented himself, but I think he's slightly overrated. I don't rate him as highly as Walker.

And then charged up the wing to take a clutch mark on the boundary to just about ice the game on the end of the very next kick. He was absolutely everywhere in that last 10 mins.

I'm not denying that, but to say he "added a defensive aspect to his game" from a single uncontested mark in the backline is going overboard. He's not suddenly some backline general, that 'leadership' move down back was most likely orchestrated from the box upstairs.

Incorrect. Sanderson said that was Walker's decision. Anyway, Walker is improving quicker this year than I thought he would which is good news for Adelaide into the next three to four seasons. I think Hurley's going to be a good player but will have nothing on Walker, and that isn't disrespectful in the slightest.

I think Hurley could be better than Walker in the end - very different types of players though, too hard to compare.

You only have to look at Walkers season last year to realize that talent can turn things around very quickly.

I guess if you want versatility you go with Hurley but if you want or need Goals then you go with Walker it really depends on what a team needs.

That said, is Hurley the most overrated footballer in the land ? Buddy Franklin kicked 113 goals in his 4th year and Hurley will be lucky to reach 30. But it's the injuries, isn't it ?

They do play a big part, only an idiot can't see that. Franklin was virtually injury free up until that point and played 25 games in a premiership side. Kinda helps.

As a forward, Walker, but then Hurley has the defender string to his bow. I think we need a pure forward more though at the Tiges, someone to make defenders accountable so they can't just trippe team Riewoldt. On that basis I'd take Walker.

As far as forward ability goes, I'll take Walker thanks. I agree with some others in here though, and think Hurley will play his best football down back. The two playing directly against eachother in a few years is a matchup I'd definitely pay to see.
