I'd take Walker over Hurley to back up JR8 anyday.

C'mon the choice between the two was too easy!

Walker has been immense, was very underrated. I would easily take him over Hurley, J.Reiwoldt etc. in our forwardline. Hurley plays very well as a KPD though (what he was recruited as) and is rarely beaten.

1 thing I find regarding Hurley is, He is such a competitive beast we don't need to convince people of how good he is going to be, just give him a bit of time and he will become a elite player of the comp. Don't bother defending him, like Jobe he will get there and we will have a mighty fine player on our hands and than we will have alot of threads to bump.
Apart from this thread of course, as Hurley will not go past Walker.

Ha ha...... and the Zen Master says 'we'll see'.....
If they persist with him in the forward line he won't reach Walkers level ever, he is a natural defender and if played in the back line he will be in the top few competition wide.

Considering the weight he has dropped i'm inclined to think they intend to keep him forward.

A few have noted on our board that his tendency to over run the ball in flight appears to be his one glaring weakness at the moment. Hopefully a little less weight = better leap, combined with some one on one forward coaching to time himself better.

Very much looking forward to Hurley this year - could be awesome.

To be honest, its usually the delivery to him that's the problem rather than over running the ball. Hell, if he isn't running at full speed the defender will easily close him down.

It's up to the midfield to deliver the ball onto Hurley's chest while he leads at full pace.

I would love him at CHB at the Tigs.

For two reasons:

1) He would be the central KPD at the Tigers

2) You wouldn't have to watch him tear Riewoldts ass up again. :D

Cant argue with either of those reasons as much I feel like I am supposed to

People say he is overrated when it is because he is inconsistent, His best is awesome, but is only producing it 5 time a year currently.

That's fair.

I havent read all he posts, where do most Bombers fans prefer him to play, or is best suited for that matter?

I think we are pretty divided on that one.

My personal opinion is that we have several high quality KPDs so he is best utilised forward.

However it's pretty hard to ignore how freakin awesome he can be down back.

I'd say with the weight he's dropped that the coaching panel intends to play him forward; but I guess we'll see.

There is no doubt that he looks most comfortable in defense but I think the coaches will play him forward this year for two main reasons.

1. He is probably the only guy who can is capable of dealing with being the focal point of the forward line.
2. The coaches want to see what he can do up forward if he can remain injury free for a season.

When back he destroys the opposition best forward, ala J Riewoldt when he played against him, but then you see him have games from CHF like against Freo and the Dogs this year and just know how good it would be having him there for the next decade. with Crameri and Daniher it would be perfect for us if Ryder played back or Hooker, Pears and Carlisle could be good enough to leave him forward.

Will be quite the luxury when Daniher develops, can play 2nd ruck, push Ryder to CHB where he was arguably in his best form. Just a thought.

Quite a bit of poetic licence being used here.

Has he played on Franklin, Cloke, Pavlich, Hawkins or N.Reiwoldt even once?

You wouldn't play him on an athletic freak like Franklin, but he would be able to handle the others at least reasonably well.

Better suited to the bigger guys like Hawkins ...

Hurley is massivley over rated .. untill he wins any of B&F,All Australia,Coleman,Brownlow,Norm Smith he is an avergae footballer with Potential but has a body that will constantly let him down, Tex by a country mile for me

Walker hasn't done any of the things you've listed either.
