Opinion Hurn... is he the right guy for captain?

Is Hurn the right guy for captain?

  • Yes, he is the best because he is a good guy and he has receding hair.

  • No, let him back off the leash to be a beast like Brock Lesnar.

Is playing with a lot more confidence and surety, has become a real on field leader.

Love the idea of Boots as Captain but can't argue with the way Hurns playing right now, leading from the front and setting a great example to the younger players.

Just hasn't made mistakes this season. Playing fantastic, has taken a real step up.

When he gets the ball, it ends up in a teammates hands and you start looking up field to see where to next.

When Emac and Brown went down in 2015 he really stepped up his intercept marking which he never really had before that. He is is now a more rounded player. With all this talk of players disposal efficiency lacking in 2018 Hurn has gone the complete other way and would surely be the user of the ball since Mitchell in his glory days at the Hawks?

Where has this Hurn been over the last 10 years? Shame he's been playing high impact so late in his career.

From 2009-2012 Hurn was a top notch defender.

100% but didn't dominate or have an strong influence on games as he is now.

Bit of a wasted talent with all the potential and power he had IMO. Always had high hopes for him because of how good he could always be.

Shame its only happening now! Hopefully he plays for another few more years still!

He's triggered the extra year on his current contract and on current form, we've got next year out of him yet.

He's said he'd like a year without the captaincy before he retires, have to see what he does this offseason.

Perhaps he should have been given the captaincy at a younger age. Not everyone is going get adjust to leadership straight away. Looks like Bunga is finally looking a true leaders now.

Alright flogs.

We just beat the top team, last year's premiership team by 47 points.

We are playing for each other. We are playing with mongrel. Nic and Lycett are looking to hurt people.

Hurn has this group playing like a top of the ladder team. Eight wins in a row.
Not afraid of flag favourites away, not fussed by midfields like Geelong's, hungry for the opportunity to smash last years best team.

Im rambling now and don't know where I'm going with this but if anyone posts shit in this thread questioning the captaincy of the club or its great leader Hurn.
I will find you and then I'll probably have a beer with you to discuss your concerns.

Playing like a captain this year, I love it! Even X thought Shuey should be captain so we weren't alone, but are also not alone in conceding the club got it right.

He's flying. When he gets the ball you know we are going to retain possession. Must be great for those who run off their man into space knowing they won't get burned going the other way.

Shuey clearly next in line IMO

If Hurn remains captain next year, does the Hurn-Shuey succession get rethought at all?
