3.04, geez the guys incrediably slow isn't he?

The beep test is disappointing, but not unexpected. He is carrying alot of weight and has OP problems.
Not to mention he's yet to do a footy pre-season because he plays cricket over the summer.

I'm actually pretty impressed by that sprint time. It's .04 slower than Marc Murphy. I guess we can completely dispel the notion that he's slow as molasses. Certainly not super quick, but he's no plodder either.

Murphy's 20m sprint time was 2.98

.04 or .06 whichever it is the gap between murphys and hurns time, is a huge difference over 20ms..

Hurn would be left in Murphys wake based on those figures..

The difference is actually 0.06 not 0.2 or 0.4. That is 6 one hundredth of a second not 2 or 4 tenths of a second. For a guy not all that fit and with OP that ain't bad at all. On top of it he can kick like a mule, burst through tackles and take a contested mark.

Out of interest, does anyone know X.Ellis beep and 20m?

13.2 is NOT disappointing.
The way ssome of you blokes talk on this site suggests that ANYONE can get 15!
Let me get this straight...MOST AFL footballers would register between 12 and 16.
Hurn does that...enough said.

His speed apperently 3.04 is still pretty damn quick.

Give him a break...

i wouldnt worry about the beep test as fitness can be improved! im worried about his 20 mt sprint tho! im pretty sure that 0.06 s over 20 mts is not a good result!

Yeah its not, some people have to think about it, 0.06 over 20 m, that turns into 0.3 seconds over 100 metres which is a long way behind... infact as he goes further he would end up getting further behind so would probably end 0.5 to 0.7 secs behind..

Hurn= slow!

Ohhh that's good. Maybe now he'll slip and be available at pick 9? This is excellent result for the Lions. We picked up a top 5 pick last year that slipped all the way to 19 (Cameron Wood) and this year we may pick up the best midfielder available with our pick 9. Who says you need priority picks to get quality?
Hurn. C'mon on down to the Lions.

On HH someone posted that Ellis got a 2.98 for the 20m.

The whole sprint thing can be overrated.
I think Livingston recorded very quick times for his 20m sprint.
The problem is Livos brain takes 5 seconds before it tells him
where to run to on a footy field. Result = he looks very slow.

Basically over 20m Hurn would be 42cm behind Murphy, thus not huge

Lets try and put this all in perspective

someone who does a 2.9 will be in front after 20 meters by about

69cm if the other person runs 3.0
132cm if the other person runs 3.1
192cm if the other person runs 3.2

Heard he did alright at some other tests as well (were talking about it on ch 2 news last week tho didn't say waht he got).

That time isn't slow at all, its just average. Considerin the bloke has just played a full season of footy, mostly in SANFL including finals + carrying OP, and cricketing committments, the guy would be ********ed to be frank.

Give him some time to freshen up, and he will be fine. Hell. Does Mark Ricciuto have pace to burn???

hahah, i like your style!

yeah very true have always said that it is far better to be quick in the mind then to be quick by foot!

Hurn is clearly no 1 player in the draft, speed doesnt matter much when you can roost the ball 60m+.

Everyone knows Hurns it no 1, funny all the Carlton fans are the ones here trying to jump down his throat before he even plays a game, they are worried for sure.
