Long time observer of this website and also Nick's but first time poster (ignoring 2011 irrelevant posts). Title of this page sums it all and I am sure we all are currently including our great club.
My story - I came to this country as a 16 year old with dreams which everyone is entitled to have, been a rough ride but I ended up doing what I dreamt about. People ask me today why do I support Black and White with no family history, etc but the fact is I don't have a reason. It was love at first sight. Loved the colours, then after a bit of digging loved the rich history of this club. 2006-2007 was when I started barracking for them and I don't think I have missed too many games via tv/in attendance for all these years. Not boasting as I know there are 50+ years paid members here. But the respect and love I found for Bucks was beyond doubt one of the reasons why I loved our colours. Personally a lot of us here, including myself can relate to Bucks, done a great deal of hard work, but that final reward is missing. This makes me feel more heart broken after yesterday's loss. I am not sure how Bucks stay so full of class, even after what he has endured personally.
People say it's just a sport, but for me its a way of life. I wait every week to just see our boys play on the weekend. Its an unconditional love/friendship/passion whatever you want to label it.
2010 was just like yesterday, I got to meet people from Nick's i.e. Clemo, Dave86 etc and founded great friendships along the way due to sharing the passion for the Magpies!
2011 was just a nightmare and the worst was everything sort of fell apart past that point.
I don't want this to happen to our 2018 team. I believe losing first, sometimes ignites the fire something along the lines of Paul Chapman and Geelong when they lost to Hawthorn or Hawthorn losing prelim and Grand Final but to get three peat success.
I know our boys and club are hurting, but only to find a strong resolve to come out stronger next year and prove this was not a fluke. We have become a good team and should refuse to give up after this failure. Playing for each other should stay forever in our blood.
I will be buying a membership after all these years and support the club irrespective of the result.
Go the Pies! Bring on 2019!
