Let us not escape from the fact that this so-called 'journalist' Craig Hutchison exacerbated the issue by coaxing the answers from Libba. I'm not saying Libba is blameless, by all means what he said was pure crap and should suffer the consequences, but Hutchison who god knows why has a job, again proved he is the prime instigator of contrived crap. He couldn't substantiate his claims with honest facts (I refer to his claim that Jamieson is "not on the Blues list this year) and ultimately, he is such a twerp. I always hoped Carey would belt him on air during Footy Classified, and his stories on the Footy Show really showed us how much of a journalist he is - breaking the news that Steve Johnson's father was involved in an altercation at a VFL match. Clap Clap Clap Craig Hutchison -- how you have a job and better would-be journalists and writers are without one, is a mystery.

I wonder if Liberatore realises what he has done here, and I don't mean against Carlton who can look after themselves. Libba has been made to look like a fool, an indecisive, perhaps simple, fool, and no one would again employ him to be an AC at AFL level on the basis that he can't keep his mouth shut after the fact.

Hutchy didn't say that Jamison had been de-listed (which would have better suited his sensationalist style) what he said was that Jamison is 'not on the Blues' list', and Jamison is in fact not on the Blues' senior list, he's on the rookie list.
Hutchy (although spot on with his facts) deliberately structured his words to misrepresent those facts so that the average viewer would think he had said the opposite, but if ever it came back to bite him, he had himself covered.

Possibly, but I read into his using the words 'not on the Blues' list' instead of 'no longer on the Blues' list' or 'has been delisted', which would have given more impact to the statement.
It's either one of two possibilities:
- He's a dumbf*ck who didn't do his homework properly and got his facts wrong.
- He was well aware of the situation and manipulated it to 'create' another 'fact' to support the view that Carlton was tanking.
I think yoss probably assured his missus that pic would be for his eyes only, tsk tsk.

I suspect he knew what he was saying, and his point is we played a kid who we didn't even opt to promote from our rookie list this year.....it is a manipulation of the facts that will sound like it is supporting his fabrications to most uneducated listeners, he's a sly dog that hutchy.

Hutchy misses out on the key point with the Jamieson list situation, either because he is an inept journo or he manipulated the facts to suit his argument. Me think it was a little bit of both.
Jammo was an elevated rookie late in 2007. He showed promise and potential in his games and rightly was retained by the club for 2008.
The club had one of two choices:
(1) Promote Jamieson to the senior list, thereby costing us a lot more $$ under the salary cap
OR
(2) Leave Jamieson on the rookie list thereby saving a lot $$ compared to elevating him to the senior list. The main reason for doing this is because we do not have a Veteran list player for 2008, we are allowed to have a "Nominated Rookie". Basically this means, Jamieson is a rookie listed player that can enjoy all the benefits of a senior listed player without the price tag. He does not require a player to be placed on the long term injury list in order to get a game, so providing he is fit and his form holds there is no reason he can't play all 22 games.
To me it's a no brainer. Yet somehow Hutchy can't grasp this simple concept.
Great list management by the club in my book.
It also de-bunks yet another bull $h1t tanking theory.

Not sure about that. We wanted a full 38 players but the nominated rookie situation was too good to miss out on. Basically we can play two nominated rookies all year in place of two veterans. Jamison is a given and we have one more spot for whoever put their hand up, with Ellard and Jacobs the chances at this stage. How much would Pfeiffer be on compared to Jamison? We would have had no Pfeiffer, Jamison on the senior list unnecessarily and our nominated rookies would not have been as good as Pfeiffer, therefore weakening out list marginally. I think the Blues knew exactly what they were doing with Jamo.
