Of course I consider myself Australian, I have the flag tattooed on my left pec. Others may see me differently because I'm not born of two Australians or moreso I am not of any indigenous descent as I'm of Irish descent
Cultural identity? That will obviously have different perceptions; for me? I have a V8 holden ute, an LJ Torana, I work FIFO, have played and love spectating Australian Football, am partial to a meat pie as well as cooking on the bbq and having a beer or dozen.
To me that is quintessential Australian; however others would disagree and some would want that to change. Some may Identify "Australian" as something else; what that is/are I don't know and some may see me as ignorant for that but that is not by design it's just how I identify

I don't have a V8 Holden, an LJ Torana, nor do I work FIFO.
Does this mean one of us isn't Australian?
Does this mean one of us is taking away from, or doing damage to the "identity of the nation"?
Don't these "right wing bigots" need to know their identity before they can "fear losing their identity"?
