There are plenty of sooks on both sides of politics, but it seems that violent protests mostly come from one side
Violent protests only occur on one side because the majority of the conservative side are old people who don't exactly have the capability to violently protest as a group. The conservative extremists do however have a history of lynching and murdering their opponents in cold blood after the protest crowds have dispersed. Does that make them better people?

I would assume protests are happening on one side because the conservatives are in government and they have a president serving their interests. They don't need to go out on the streets and beat people up.

How much can/should the internet be blamed for this? It's good in so many ways that we live in a world of instant information but it's also become an 'instant outrage' outlet. Lefties, righties and centrists all indulge. As soon as something pisses you off, you can blast all and sundry with your viewpoint on all manner of social media, and there's always gonna be at least one other person on your feed to encourage you with a 'yeah, right on!' and spur you on to new heights of gripening.

This carries on into offline life.

Is this the equivalent of bringing up the Crusades to compare with current day events?

Lol, guy filming gets told to put his camera away or "we'll put it away for you" because he's "putting people in danger" while they smash windows, loot and burn things. Then he's attacked and the stream goes down. Wouldn't want these tolerant snowflakes caught on film helping their community by tearing it apart now, would we?

Wonder who told the cops to stand down.

Well that as well. But conservatives don't naturally protest even when not in power. They don't have the time or the energy.

It shits me that these children at bourgeois universities whinging about petty grievances are called "the left". But I'm fine with them being shat on by the right if that's what it takes to purge the movement of morons.

How are they being shat on and how are they being purged? Or is that all a fiction in your head?

More than youve done
Well, I personally don't have any reason to riot. If the right were doing the same, I'd think just as little of them as I do the extremists of the left perpetrating violence in order to silence discourse.

If your idea of bravery is getting a bunch of people together, all obscuring their faces, as they commit crimes including arson, property destruction, and assault on people they vastly outnumber, then I can't really agree. That seems nothing but cowardly to me.

Surely you agree that the majority of those 'protesters' are the equivalent of white nationalists that go around purely to destroy things. They don't give a shit about anything other than being able to sucker punch campaigners without being caught doing it. They're far from brave and I consider them in the same breath as our loser nationalist groups.

Which has what do with purges in the progressive movement?
The impotent rage about dumb shit like Milo Yiannopolis that has dominated university campuses for the past few years will fizzle out. Or do you think that's building towards some new era or enlightenment?

I would assume violent protests are happening on one side because the left has had a problem with authoritarianism for some time now. The attitude is the same, an acceptance of violence now to shut people up. There are otherwise reasonable, peaceful people on the left who support the coward punching of Richard Spencer because of his views.
