Society/Culture Hypocrisy of The Left - part 3

Translate - One day I realised wealth wasn't just handed to me by someone else, didn't like that so I learned to love the thought of wealth redistribution.

Take responsibility for yourself, work hard, contribute, prosper, then you can care for as many people as you want.

Ah yes, the old "If you're not born into money just accept you'll live a much lesser life than those privileged enough to have ancestors who rigged the system." Fantastic.

Are you aware of the history of socialist policy and the misery that’s followed?

Why are people so ******ed they say sh*t like this? Unless it’s a troll I guess.

Is it socialism if you want everyone to have equal opportunity regardless of if they were lucky enough to be born into wealth and privilege?

Nearly 9 out of 10 millionaires are self made...

Complaining about inheritances and a rigged system are just excuses made by lazy socialists.

Wealth doesn't = happiness but if you want more don't expect to be handed someone else's.

No one asked to be handed someone elses. Its about having equal access to s**t. Education should be a human right, not a contest between who can afford it. Case in point in America when people were BRIBING to get their kids into schools. Almost like money gets you thinks others cant?

No, socialism is about equality of outcome. Doesn't work.

Because Capitalism has just hit it out of the park right now, hasnt it? Socialism is about equality in a SOCIETY, its why we have very socialist things like, I dunno, FIRE FIGHTERS? Maybe we should privatize firefighting so that it isnt socialist anymore so in future if you dont want your house to burn down you should make sure you choose to pay for the right ones. Buy cheap firefighters if you want, but beware the risk! Free market!

Hes quite passionate for a random forum ranter, Ill give him that.
John Oliver is a self-righteous little turd, he's an insulter and would be comedian, who I thought was funny once but then he became that snotty crap deliverer, of nasty comments, because it became a fashion to hate one man!

In fairness to Johnno, the bloke he bagged is a little bit of a campaigner hey :D

Imagine feeling threatened by someone on the TV...

Andrew O'Keefe being somehow emblematic of the dreaded left typifies the intellectual wasteland that is modern conservatism in Australia. Speaking out about domestic violence clearly being a left wing issue, idiots.
Yeah it is not at all about the ideology involved in discussing domestic violence.

"Domestic violence does not discriminate"

vs

"Domestic violence can happen to anyone however it is overwhelmingly concentrated in particular parts of the community with factors such as lower socioeconomic status being associated with increased rates of intimate partner violence."

Both sides acknowledge the scourge this issue is in the community.

Ambulances aren't privatised. They're not going to refuse anyone but you have to pay for the service if you aren't insured.

Uh.... actually.. very clearly, it is not.
Socialists want an equal outcome.
i.e. women representation, racial representation yada yada collectivism.
That's the scary part.

As you've stated... equal opportunity is the optimal situation. I want everyone to have access to education, food and shelter.
This is much easier to achieve with capitalism, as your class mobility is huge.
Getting rid of property rights, giving all the power to the state, and destroying human industrialism seems like a nupty way to achieve what you want.
You're a closet centrist when it comes to economics and you don't even realise it.
Come in my friend, we have cake.

Capitalism acknowledges market failure so the state has minimal responsibility like protecting our assets.

Mate, you're living in a dream world if you think everyone will have access to the same quality of everything.

As long as you have access to it in its base makeup. i.e. public school.

You must EARN your right to this, which you can do if you work hard.

it's not hard to understand why, let me explain...
I can't back up those stats but Millionaires who have not come from wealth have a hunger to achieve and make money, Millionaires sons and daughters generally do not have the same hunger to make wealth. some will inherit wealth and those that do not live tough lives. pretty well documented.

LOL, the study was based on a survey?

"Of course I never got help from my parents. They just sent me to elite private schools, paid for everything I wanted, and then gave me cushy job at their company that wasn't advertised. But I earned that money myself! It was my hard work!"

Yeah, that explains it... LoL

The world's against you dude, may as well quit now.

Every time you write that salty nonsense you ignore the determined bastard who worked their ass off and made something of their life.

People who give their kids the best chance have earned that right.

Good decisions should be rewarded.

So basically regulated capitalism with a socialist bent is the way to go to. (Which I agree with)

How capitalist and how socialist, depends on individual circumstances of a country and your own ideological beliefs.

Capitalism acknowledges market failure so the state has minimal responsibility like protecting our assets.

I think there is a bit of a strawman argument here.

Who in their right mind would want completely unregulated capitalism where the state owns nothing and free market decides all (be it roads, hospitals, transport, fire fighters, police etc)

Also who in their right mind would think everyone should earn the same amount of money regardless of job or output and accept no one owns anything.

Both extremes are clearly stupid.

Those kinds of shows could be viewed as disinformation, if we start really cracking down on it.

Not when all the information provided by it is backed up by sources and fact...

Unless we want to make facts=opinions=disinformation and then where do we end up?
