So do I.

But that's US conservatives for you. Opposing infrastructure funding, because you know Biden, socialism, etc, while focussing on the big issues, you know Sesame Street, Big Bird, Dr Seuss, etc.

And the stupid and the gullible lap it up.
More commentary and attention around a nothing subject I see.

Interesting, it seems that people view Paul Murray as biased. I don't see much of him but what I have seen he calls out bs when in his view he sees it, there's nothing in that clip that suggests he's biased other than anyone's opinion.

Not sure he's a radical right winger, conservative maybe but I wouldn't align him with hard right wing.

So the question is, what is the point of this post?
hahahahaha you think Pauly Cheeseburger isn't biased.

All your whingey posts in this thread make more sense now.

From what I've seen of him, no, which is almost zero.

Could you please link my 'whingey' posts (along with everyone else's whingey posts - yes that means you as well, you'll be busy) unless of course you've confused me with another poster - which seems likely.

Or just carry on melting over knob heads having a melt about a puppet, not fussed either way. I'll continue watching the hypocrisy flow at my amusement.

Yes, it's the conservatives melting over puppets. I'm laughing at them/you.

both the right and left are hypocrites because both groups are just tribalists who support a certain group of people rather then a wholly formed consistent ideology.

i.e. All their arguments are post hoc rationalizations used to defend their tribe. thats why they always appear as hypocrites.

end thread.

Every human alive is too complex to be captured entirely by a singular ideology. It makes thoroughly more sense to ask for their opinion on particular issues, and when you do you will find that on each issue their opinion can be placed on the spectrum between right and left wing, conservative or progressive, freedom or tyrannical.

Ergo, the centre doesn't exist. You do have to be one or the other.

As for the nebulous concept of 'middle ground', consensus only works when both sides are willing to play ball or are interested in the best possible outcome.

Having a singular complete ideology makes you complex. Because such an ideology must be complex in order for it to be consistent and rational. The lack of an ideology is a reversion to irrational and hypocritical intuition. I.e. simplistic. Those who think about ideology but decide they cant define one are giving in to their hypocritical intuitions. Rather then identify and fix such hypocracies they choose to attack the notion of ideology instead. Its a nonsense conclusion based on giving in to ones animal intuitional urges.

a common response from the tribalist right and left who only use rationalization as a post hoc defense of the tribe is to respond like one would at a football match. to give some one the hand, to use one off words that they think end an argument regardless of context, to use dislike buttons, to call something stupid without justification etc. These responses only appeal to people who dont really believe in reason.

Stop fitting into the stererotype chief. you make this too easy.

Think you're using ideology differently than I am.

I'm referring to the entire field of thought that represents left and right wing (ie, organisational and economic thought), and the other spectrums mentioned.

This is singularly absurd, even for you.

The post you quoted stated that instead of looking at ideologies, look at issues: this reduces ideologies down to their practicable use. You have then proceeded to direct me to do the opposite, to ensure ideological consistency via didacticism.

Do you want good ideas, or bad ones? Do you want to be wedded to a single and fixed position, or do you want to be free to select from a myriad of positions based upon your own moral compass and your situation?

Hypocrisy does not make one incorrect or render one's critiques irrelevant or absurd. Hypocrisy is an attack on one's character and integrity as opposed to their argument.

Why in absolute fu** are you talking about hypocrisy when it isn't relevant to what I said in any way whatsoever?

Think you may be talking about simple or poorly formed ideologies. Most if not nearly all of them are to different degrees.

but despite this there is no rational alternative decision making process that doesnt involve an ideology. People claim pragmatism as an alternative but pragmatism is also ultimately driven off intuitions.

guy with an ideology: ok if my worldview sucks how do you think we should proceed?

pragmatist: do what feels right in the context?

guy with an ideology: yeah thats just your inconsistent animal intuitions. Thats not following reason.

pragmatist: um ok.... Its simple. we should do the most obvious, common sense and morally right thing given the situation.

guy with an ideology: which is?

pragmatist: umm errrr ...f****. I need an ideology dont I.

ps. You are right on the use of hypocrisy. i was using it as a proxy for inconsistent.
