We all know he's down on form badly, but he's a huge body, proven at AFL level, young and well experienced in big/tough games. So please no trolly answers or dropped chest mark gifs, I'm genuinely interested in your responses.

Just a few hypotheticals:

1. If Chris Dawes was traded at the end of the year, what price do you think he would fetch on the open market currently?

2. If Collingwood were to trade him and needed a KPF that could fill his second foil role, who could they acquire for a fair price in a trade? And, for an additional if you'd like, do you think they'd go for a similar age group or someone older (ties in to what kind of KPF they could get anyways).

3. What clubs would be interested, and what/who do you think would be their offer? (Ties in a bit with the above, but would be interested if you added it).

4. If GWS took him as a poached player, what do you think the compensation pick would be?

To Pies fans: I'm aware he may have a current contract and/or be in negotiations and I'm also not trying to have a go at the bloke. Just intrigued.

Either him or Cloke will be gone, Collingwood can't afford the luxury of having two casually performing key forwards.

He wont be traded, he was offered a lot more from other clubs than we could afford for his last contract, he happily signed with us, also, in his current form he has very little trade value IMO, we'd be lucky to get a late second rounder for him, most know he's a better player than he's shown this year though, we're better off keeping him hoping he comes good, he'll never be a star though IMO.

Worth little to nothing as he is simply no good. Whens the last time a full forward has played 20 games and kicked 14 goals without being dropped? Has no presense on the field doesnt crunch packs and cant mark over his head. Maybe a swap for Jesse White as both are no good.

He has been out of form since about round 6 last year. How long are you out of form before this is your normal form?

I'd have Jesse White, at least he is tall and athletic enough that not every ruck contest is conceded.

So you dont think that after 18 months of being out of form that he may just be no good?
He's shown much better form than the shit he's put up this year, he was in good form early last season before wrecking his finger/hand, he just hasn't recovered, he also had laser eye surgery in the off season, i think he needs to go back lol.

He was for the first 6-7 games yeah. Since then he has been terrible.

I seem to remember Kosi having an awesome 6-8 weeks once, many years ago. Hope he doesnt go that way

Yeah it's been a goddam awful season for him but there was a stage there where I rated him.

Taking in your hypothetical scenario two and assuming Cloke stays, Liam Jones could be a CHF who would take the second defender while Cloke played from the square. Jarrad Grant would add mobility and speed and and would be an effective foil for a gorilla like Cloke. Jones in particular would excel at the Pies.

I feel the bulldogs need a big body at FF but Dawes would be suboptimal. And I wouldn't trade either in a straight swap.

Cornelius maybe?

I guess the question is more if Cloke stays and you (fairly) cut/trade out Dawes, where does Cloke play? CHF or FF?

Just to weigh in. As a pies supporter I have been more please with Dawes than Cloke. Dawes is a better ruck option for us at the moment instead of Cam Wood. Dawes at least puts his body into a contest. I'd be super wrapped if Collingwood could get Dawes to Adelaide with as many picks as they like for Tippet.

In saying that Collingwood needs a new ruckman more than anything. Jolly is overcooked and as said above, Wood is terrible.

Big blokes dont grow on trees especially key forwards. I think pick 20-25 like Yaco suggested.

Renouf went for pick 33, Maric pick 37, T.Lynch pick 37, Gunston (basically low 20's), Lisle 29. He has done a whole lot more than these players. People on bigfooty underrate key position players.
