Hypothetical: next coach?

who knows? When Bomber left no one, and I mean absolutely no one predicted Chris Scott would get the job. Sanderson was a lock in most peoples minds. So how can you tell who will even be around in a few years anyway?

I'd like to see one of our past players get the job if they show they're good enough as assistant coaches. But as we see every season when new coaches are appointed that it's hard to predict who a club may pick.

Truly, when we heard the list of potentials included CS, I for one stated and hoped we would go for him ahead of Sando, mainly due to Sando's closeness to the playing group, the possible need for change, Brad Scott's acceptance as coach of NM, and that all said CS presented so well.
This is not retrospective. I do recall others with similar thoughts. But yes, Sando was the favoured option.
I'm still glad we made the choice we did, very much so.
Good to see you're back on as well.

I never thought Ken Hinkley or Brenton Sanderson would get the job, mainly because as mentioned above the club had become a bit stagnant and a breath of fresh air was needed. When the last four was those two and Mark Neeld I had a gut feeling Scott would get the job, didn't even have him in the list of contenders before that though.

I always wondered what Neeld would have done at a club like Geelong instead of inheriting the ship wreck that was Melbourne, guess will never know unless he ends up being our next coach (who's bold/stupid enough to make that prediction :p).

And I was one of them. I was personally chuffed when Scott was announced as coach.
And I still think that he a good coach despite some of the bleating sheep after the finals loss.

yes you're all experts in hindsight, Give me a break

You only have to drag up the thread CF to check on all "the hindsight experts".
