My dream scenario

2018 1st + Puopolo for Whitfield
Birchall for De Goey

2017 RFA
Trengove

2018 RFA
Lynch

Our starting midfield would be on-par with the best in the league (Smith, Mitchell, O'Meara, De Goey, Whitfield, McEvoy). I rate De Goey and would make a play for him.

With Glass, Hardwick, Morrison, and Glass, I think we have enough HB depth to cover Birchall by the time we're challenging again.

Although I'd rather Lever, we can trade for everyone, and Trengove would cover for the next few years before Nash is truly ready. I like Brand, but I'm still not convinced he's our next Lake / FB game-saver.

Lynch would immediately solve our tall forward options (although, not sure we would spend that type of coin). Perhaps just a dream.

Any number of these in bold could be gone come the end of trade period through either trade or delistings, the middle to old tier certainly needs a clean out.
Plenty of potential for 2nd round and 3rd round picks to replenish our peripherals, and/or packages with 2nd round picks acquired through trades and then packaged with a player to gain middle to late first round picks and/or players through trade.
I think we have a few good options to give our list a good shake up.

im a little disappointed you stopped at Birchall for degoey actually. How about Leaver for shoemakers?

Didn't Wayne Carey start some crap rumour back in April this year, saying that Cyril was homesick or something, and Clarkon called him out for being a bullshiter !!!
It's a strange rumour to start, last time I checked, the Tiwi Islands didn't have an AFL side

I've heard a rumour today Roberton from St.Kilda could be coming to Hawthorn, what are people's thoughts on him ?
We've apparently been into him for a while - at least this season, probably longer.

He's been playing on larger forwards so gets hung out a bit, but as an intercept/rebounder he's sound.

But, with Sicily & Burton already there & Stratton/Birch/Frawley to return, I don't think we'd want to pay for him. Only if we lost Frawley + Stratts + Birch would I want.

*when I heard the number we were discussing a few months back I almost cried. Absolutely no inside mail but it started with a '7' & that's gotta be huge overs, unless he's an FA & we're looking to sling Saints another 1st rounder

The following video shows Conor McKenna has a good footy brain (Watch no 45):

It seems to me Conor's first instinct when he gets the ball is to accelerate. He then either gets caught or the game opens up. At 21yrs old his game sense will only get better.
I'd love him at the Hawks

Conor is out of contract.
Ken hell. Three Conors in the backline?

Nah he's not a FA just out of contract, that number you heard is absolutely sickening.

The very person who gave a heads up to Mitchell being an Eagle last year prior to the media getting a sniff, has suggested that we will need to strap ourselves in for another emotional trade period as Wright continues to regenerate the list.

That literally means all but a very small handful of players could be tabled to see what the interest is, if they've not already got deals organised.

Roberton is surplus to needs. Doesn't excite me one bit nor does it make sense as far as our list profile. Hope we don't waste trades on him.
Well, there isn't too many players left to poach it seems with only Kelly available.
I also think norf and blues are throwing everything bar the kitchen sink at everyone so this may make it extremely difficult to get Balic/kennedy types.
We have to be Inventive.

How/why is Kelly 'avaliable' but Kennedy/Balic are difficult to get?

I'd see Kelly as difficult to get with Balic & Kennedy being available

I didn't mean it that way.
What I meant was with only Kelly available who is ungetteable for us, that leaves a few Slim choices like those two to add to our squad. Meaning that GW may be looking at a different option we haven't thought of.

Why would Brisbane want him though? They are behind us in terms of development so Cyril would not be there for their next premiership tilt.

Only way I would be comfortable seeing Cyril out the door is if Kelly was coming back the other way.
Even then I'm trembling at the thought of Cyril in different colours!
