You don't often read about teams being tagged as letting teams off the hook when referring to someone handing out practically a 100pt drubbing.. That's all I could read into the headline, honestly.

So you ignore the facts I pointed out - that the back page of paper gave us the headline (not the Eagles), said we thrashed Melbourne and are into the top 4 - and just play the man.

I wan't even addressing you with my post, more the continued chip on the shoulder mentality of Freo supporters in general.

However - If I'm being sanctimonious its in reaction to your hijacking of every thread, bullying of other posters and general abuse of everyone who doesn't fit into your world view of what should and shouldn't be posted here. No one appointed you as the arbiter or moderator of this board.

If you are going to keep trying to throw your weight around as some kind of internet tough guy here I'm going to keep playing devils advocate.

I knew you guys would be whinging about that article headline. To put some perspective on it, on the back page of paper was the largest headline "To the top 4, Dockers on the rise after pummelling hapless Melbourne". That was the back page of the paper.
Inside was a more discerning critique of our continued inability to play 4 quarters of football and in particular our poor 3rd quarters. It said we were disappointing in the second half after a scintillating 1st half. It was true and well written.
Get over it. We are getting respect because we are playing good footy but we aren't immune to criticism.

So would you go so far to recommend The West as a good read? Like others here, I refuse to buy it. Absolute garbage.

I don't buy it. I have lunch or coffee somewhere that has it lying around on a table and read The Game lift out mainly to read a transcript of the press conference and the WAFL watch. Mark Duffield is a decent journalist who occasionally writes something worth reading. The article causing all the controversy is an example of a well put together piece. The headline was unfortunate and misleading and detracts from what was otherwise a decent critique. We have been poor in 3rd quarters and we didn't finish the game in the style we started.

i didn't realise how worked up I was after reading the trash, until i stopped reading it.

Don't agree E, they absolutely cannot write a positive article on Fremantle without a caveat.
It's been going on for 19 years now and they can shove it.

You say that what he wrote is true. Why don't they write the truth about West Coast ?

The normal shyte.

Lyon didn't play the kids.
Lyon left the list in a mess. It was 100% his fault.
Lyon had them playing shit football. (No mention of Grand Final appearances of course).
Lyon shafted them in the move to us.
Lyon is the anti-christ
etc.

Watters is doing a great job with the rebuild.
They are now playing attractive football.
A bit more luck and they would have won 2-3 more games.


Some really venomous talk back callers with KB and Patrick Smith.

To be fair, those two were gobsmacked as well.
