I understand our list but I think you are cutting them far too much slack. At 8-3 after the bye we should be playing finals now. The reasons for our capitulation are varied and are not simply explained by youth. For Buckley to continue beyond 2016 there must be tangible improvement in our win/loss results. I am confident that he will give it his best, whether that is good enough remains to be seen.

It's almost a proverb that young players fall away in the 2nd half of a long season and the injuries certainly didn't help, even then a couple of those games could have went either way

Retreating to my old thread.

Still absolutely believe it.

Can't wait for everything to come together, the negativity around here is killing my soul.

When you isolate this season to wins and losses, absolutely it's a failure.

If however you look to the quality of football we have played for a majority of this season compared to last season, along with the successful acquisitions we have made in the off season for the first time in quite a few years, this season is a success.

We are currently playing the most taxing brand of football in the AFL (number 1 pressure side) with a very young list, with nothing on the line a drop off should have been very much expected.

Last year there were still doubts on the culture and whether the boys were playing for Bucks, this year there are no doubts the boys are invested, and i personally have been very, very impressed in the effort this group has shown.

I absolutely believe barring major injury we will be rewarded for our efforts next year, we deserved much better this year but thats footy.

I'm with you, I can't wait for our tide to turn, its only a matter of time and being patient.

I just can't stand premiership talk. From Pert and Eddie and all the other muppets that say it. Until we can beat the best teams in the competition and win all the way through the season no one should be coming out saying we will win a flag in X amount of years.

Seriously, I back Bucks. I love the job he's done in turning over the list and in creating a team for the future. I love seeing our young players develop, at VFL and AFL level. I back him in for next year, and I'm confident that he can take us further than that.

However, he's yet to prove himself, and I don't see how anyone can reasonably suggest that he's in the top 5 coaches of the AFL. Maybe in the future, but how can you suggest that he now stands in front of more than a dozen other coaches? Longmire, Lyon, Clarkson, Simpson, Hardwick, Roos, Chris Scott, Ken Hinkley, and even Beveridge right now all have legitimate claims to being a better coach than Buckley. On what basis can you say that Bucks is better most of those?

I'm glad you had a dream in which Bucks becomes one of the greatest coaches of all time. I wept like an idiot after we won in 2010, and I reckon I'd be weeping for a week if Bucks could lead us to even one premiership. It might just be your humble view or vision, but you should understand that the gap between your view and reality makes it hard for the rest of us to make a more reasoned case for the man.
