Pretty much exactly matches my opinion of them. We chatted to some at Y&Js before the Grand Final, then I actually stood next to two Port supporters during the game itself. Despite the fact there were about 200 Geelong lunatics jumping all over each other for the last half (even I was doing it!), they stayed to the very end and were quite generous with their congratulations.
Then, many many drinks later I met a few at the Charles Dickens (after the Fed Square presentation) and had that reinforced further. I've got no problem with Port fans at all.
If it were Hawthorn on the other hand.........

lets save that for hawthorn.Should just get in a big group, walk in there and start swinging.

I'll be at the game, but I won't have 119 on my jersey. I don't think they need to have their noses rubbed into it any more than they have.
To be honest, outside of the match itself, I have actually found Port Adelaide fans to be among the best I've sat around and had beers with. They know their footy, are passionate about it, and what happens inside the ground usually stays there.
I spent a lot of time talking to some of them after the GF this year, and apart from being gutted with the final margin, were magnanimous in defeat, and effusive in their praise of our awesome performance.
Now if we were in Perth playing the Eagles after thumping them in a GF by 119 points, i'd have that number taped, sewn, tattooed, drawn, whatever, onto every square millimetre of available space on my body.

HAHA I would have seen you at the Dickens then. I was there till 4 am that night![]()

Port supporters are great, and they love their footy. We should think of them as a club akin to ourselves. I wouldn't want to rub it in their faces either, that'd be nasty, but I understand BDP that you wanna celebrate the win. But let's not make ourselves like Hawks, Tigers, Blues or Eagles supporters.
That was my friend Danny, his girlfriend and their mate. Great people and very gracious in defeat. I went to the Cats v Port game in Adelaide this year and their supporters were very respectful.
Me too - that's why we needed the BigFooty badges or equivalent![]()

you would go all Hanibal Lecter on there asses ?
Hehe.
The Port fans I met at the GF were fine. The Hawks supporters I've met offline have been cool too, and very supportive of the Cats and their efforts in '07, it's only the guys on here who have neuroses about their lack of success. The worst supporters I've met offline are Collingwood and Carlton supporters.
I plan on doing it anyway, not just for Port but for the rest of the league, just to remind them who is #1.
Port won't need their noses rubbed in it, the media will go over the top with references to GF day and it will be the key motivational tool for them come Round 1, whether they admit it or not.
I was the one wearing the two blue clash jersey with the number 20 on the back![]()

Hmm, maybe he should change his name to BDC![]()

I'm thinking of going over for Round 1. Never been to Footy Park, never been to Adelaide. Should be fun.
Me neither but soon as the draw came out I pencilled Round 1 win as a must attend game.
I'd imagine there'd be a fair Geelong contingent there and I've got quite a few friends lined up to make the trip across so it should be fun.
