I didn't realize how desperate Freo was to get Bel

Fremantle are absolutely desperate to get Peter Bell over to to WA. Peter Bell is a brilliant player and all, but he is only 1 player, while for those of you who haven't seen the latest news Fremantle are basically giving up 3 players and 2 draft picks to get Bell.
This is a very complicated trade so i will try and sum-up what is happening as easily as i can.
1. Fremantle have offered Pick 6, Pick 22 and Heath Black. Kangaroos knocked it back saying they wanted 2 First Round picks and Heath Black.
2. To get the first round draft pick, they have offered Collingwood, pick 22, Brodie Holland and James Clement for the number 8 draft pick.
3. They will then offer the number 6, number 8 pick and Heath Black to the Kangaroos. Therefore the Kangaroos have said they would accept that for Peter Bell.

Basically Fremantle are giving up:
Heath Black
James Clement
Brodie Holland
Number 6 Draft Pick
Number 22 Draft Pick (not the number 8 pick because they never had that in the first place)

All that for Peter Bell, is it really worth it. 1 player can be as good as 5 players combined.

One thing your forgeting, the squads have to be down to 35 with a minimum of three pick ups at the draft, only 38 people can be on the list so Freo would probably cull those players anyway, but are giving them a chance to play elsewhere and get the guy there after in the process

Are you sure that players that were going to be dropped from Fremantle will make it into other teams?

What i mean is that they are getting as many of the players they are going to cull as possible onto other squads, not all will but the rest will go into the pre-season draft, but not all make it on of course.

It's a bit sad for Belly... and it shows Freo can't get quality Footballers... they are not prepared to pay the price...
