Up to now Ben Cousins has done more for the club than what his misdemeanors have taken away.

For years he has been one of the toughest, fittest, most skillful and fairest players the AFL has seen. He is a joy to watch play.

Unfortunately, for all his abilities he also has a penchant for a party. Which is where he seems to find a lot of trouble. That's what you get for being in the public eye.

I for one am glad that I'm not in the public eye, I'd be a walking, talking newspaper front page.

I don't believe in tall poppy syndrome, I want Benny to make a glorious comeback and win another Charlie in the next 2-3yrs. Use this adversity to get smarter.

Good luck Ben, sometimes life sux, but you are strong enough to get through this and come back better than ever. GO YOU LEGEND!!!!!!

To all the knockers out there.......................................bite me!!!! :D

no one doubts he is a champion footballer.

But the bloke has just rode your clubs name through the mud for the past 3 or so years.

I hope you are right ditto but it is WAY too early to tell if he evern will get another game at the eagles (or anywhere).

Cuzz was my all time favourite player but after all this stuff I am losing so much respect for him. It is very sad! :(

I'm just pissed off that he got himself suspended. So glad I went to the grand final last year now. :D

he'd have all the support of us west coast supporters. its just whether he realises hes got an oppurtunity with a good team and that he can take it...or throw it away by being irresponsible.

So will i this is a Personal issue and he should get every bit of support from every fan and supporter.

If anything this will devide or unite the player group. Destiny will decide that.

Im supporting Ben too. While he has acted like a fool, I feel that we have to stick by him. People need friends in these siuations and thats the only way this man will come back to his best, which we know he still has in him. Carn Ben prove all the doubters wrong and get up on the dais again this year

I think all or most Eagles supporters would support Ben. He has acted like an idiot and thrown away what was a wonderful dream career. I hope that he can get the help he so desperately needs to make a come back because this would be a terrible way to end his career.

In saying that I wish our board did more to help him, clearly the writing was on the wall a long time ago and I think they could've done more.

What ever people say, im there for ben and all involved at this time. I will still continue to support the eagles and Ben because i have a great respect for him and admire the way he plays on field.

I hope ben can get away for a few weeks and work everything out with his family and most importantly himself.

Good luck Ben :thumbsu: I and hopefully all of us are behing you

I think he'll get a bit more support from the wider community now that it seems that he isn't just being a knob, but actually has a serious addiction problem.

I like him and I hope he can get himself sorted.

Angry as hell at first.

Embarrassed badly secondly.

Hollow now.

Ben has made his bed, time to lie in it.

Cant keep running Ben, father time catches EVERYONE.

But it seems he has no choice but to face it now.

Takes a Big Man to do that.

GODSPEED BEN. Good Luck in your recovery.

So do you think he should've been suspended by the club? Are you concerned at how his behaviour could be affecting the rest of the player group?

btw i don't know about MORE charlie, probably needs a little less i'd say.:p

Just want to wish the best of luck to Ben in his rehab. If it is as alleged, then I'm sure he can rise above it. People forget how young these guys are, we all make mistakes, 28 is still young enough to come back from anything. People should be allowed to stuff up, and if he's strong enough be given the opportunity to climb back up. Second chances are wonderful things. Ask Martin Pike.

I sincerely hope that this doesnt do to your club what the aker debate did to ours last year. No-one deserves that.

As an AFL supporter and a fan of Ben;s, I think you guys need to rally behind this guy. Clearly Ben has problems which are greater than the sum of the player. I think that we are all disapointed by what we have heard on the news but I have to say that life aint football and I hope that Ben gets over this. My view is that there are enough leaders at WCE to get through this. It could happen to any club and it has just worked out that it is WCE. Any opposition fans who take any pleasure in this need to really ask themselves what sort of person they are.

Guys, stay thick and support your boy. We all love to watch him play and hope that he gets back on the field soon - we hope even more that he gets his life in order and sorts himself out.

I don't like your club but I support Ben and hope you guys do not give up on him. Sorry if I am repeating what has already been said on your forum.
