Three way of Chick to Freo, Waterhouse to Port, N.Stevens to Hawks.

I think there is mid-range draft picks somewhere in there as well to be sorted out. I think it at least sounds more plausible than quite a few that I have heard floating around.

I got it from my ex-brother in law in W.A who said its a goer. But he is an 'ex' brother in law so.....

Silly.

Waterhouse for Stevens?

Who or what will Port end up with?

And Port letting go of Stevens for Waterhouse?

I dont think this will happen.

The Adevertiser today listed every Port player as must keep, should keep, tradable or delistable. Stevens was not mentioned at all. I wonder if that was an oversight.

Anything is possble in trades, and some picks , as said, might even things out, although I never say anyone in particular ought to be traded, 1because I find it distasteful, and 2, because I'm no judge in these matters

N.Stevens for Waterhouse? Gun midfielder for flaky forward who hasn't played since when? Two 2nd round draft picks won't pick up the slack.

Agreed Nick Stevens is better than Waterhouse but Waterhouse is of higher value than Chick.
I believe Waterhouse still has much of his best football to come, he has had 2 years out of the game. His body (so he says is fine) along with the fact he started football in his early 20's not at 17 like many of hte kids in the game today suggests he could play well into his 30's.
Plus he and CHick are of similar age.

Clive had a chance of coming back to Port but didn't and now his value is alot lower considering he hasn't played for a couple of years, Nick Stevens although had a quieter year, his first half was pretty good, he got a fair few brownlow votes to prove that, Nick Stevens is regarded as a future captain/leader of the club and there is no way in hell that he would be traded, Clive had his chance and he didn't take it, and now is not a required target for the power, he's not that young anymore

Hahahahaha, why would Port give up N.Stevens for Waterhouse? Port wouldn't give up N.Stevens for Waterhouse, Chick and that 2nd round pick.

Can't see the trade happening that way between Port and Freo. Would be too risky for Port to get a player coming off a Knee Reconstruction for Nick Stevens who's had a great year.

lol Nick Stevens for Waterhouse.

A gun 22 year old midfielder for an inconsistent 28 year old injury prone half forward flank.

Give us Freos #5 pick and Hawthorns first round pick then maybe we'll talk

Macca, whats Stevens contract situation like?

The only reason btw that I gave this any credence at all was that Port seems to need forwards and has a glut of midfielders. That and the inevitable he might go home part of the equation for all three named made it sound halfway based in some (and precious little of it at this time of year) reality.

Cheers.

Stevens has one year left to run on a three year contract.

I dont see how Port need forwards, weve got one of the youngest (not to mention one of the best) forward lines in the league. Tredrea, Cornes, S Burgoyne, P Burgoyne, CCC, Dew, A Murray, White. Waterhouse is older than all those players. Waterhouse has played 6 games in 2 years and its doubtful he will ever get back to anywhere near his best form. He wouldnt make Ports first 22.

If that happens ill be bloody dissapointed...unless we get Freos #5 pick and Hawthorns first round pick (#9ish?)

I think you will find that if Stevens is traded, which is a possibility, it will be because Port want a good player rather than Stevens wanting to go home.

If Stevens was to be traded it would be for a top line forward or a player of special interest to PA (ie. B.Pickett)

Port has probably the best forward line in the league, I can't think of any better, Brisbane is very good but usually has Headland and/or Voss and/or Akermanis playing in the forward line so they are not really true forwards.

Having said that Port wouldn't mind a key position Forward to allow C.Cornes to play CHB but if we don't get one we have a young lad in D.White who will be a future star.

Chick is a club champion in a finals year. Has had no serious injuries, was our leading goalkicker and tackler this year, and is a vice-captain.

Waterhouse had dodgy hamstrings before doing his knee. He is one of the most inconsistant players in the game, and has done pretty much nothing but made a few highlight reels.

That has got to be one of the most farcical statements I have ever read on these boards.

The Hitman

Can't see this trade happening. Sounds like someone has sat down & thought, Waterhouse is a Port boy & Chick is a Freo boy so let's come up with a scenario that sees them return home.

No doubt it'd have to involve Hawthorn giving up draft picks or else it'd be money for old rope.

Almost as likely as the Mark Graham & Picks for Darren Jolly one I heard a month back.

Don't feel discouraged Grendel. There's supporters of 14 clubs with nothing but time on our hands at the moment. So rumours are always entertaining between now and trade week (where let's face it 99.9% of them don't come to fruition).

Although you could've made it more interesting by sending Jade Rawlings to Port as well as part of the deal (Choco has coveted him for a number of years) ... hey, surely there's reasonable consensus that Chick is better than Waterhouse and Stevens is better than both, so it's Port that need the sweetening! ;)

Port are overloaded with ruckmen and tall defenders, not midfielders. We got down to one fit midfielder in reserve at one stage late this year.

Waterhouse back might be good for a laugh, but geez, you wouldn't want to trade anything good for him. Another player that you'd have to trade more than his worth to get.

AHAHAHAH
Now thats laughable I wouldnt give you our 5th pick.
Do you still consider stevens better than Haselby?

On the Waterhouse issue, injuries aside give me waterhouse over chick and after the coming season when waterhouse plays a full season I htink you will all agree with me.

N.Stevens is better than Haselby without a doubt. Statistically Stevens is a better player, despite playing on a much better team and has better footy attributes than Haselby does (speed, agility, skills, etc)
