Taking a look at the Crows midfield, Edwards 29, Ricciuto 30, Goodwin 29 and McLeod 29, I wouldn't exactly call them young either. Its all about injuries, the last 2 years we have had them and struggled, the previous 2 years we didn't and had good years. There is nothing wrong with the attitude of our senior players, the 'team' collectively is not good enough with so many out, its as simple as that.
Craig has been well aware of the point you are making about our older 4 midfielders, which is why if you have been watching us, you would realise that they have spent less time on the ball this year, to develop younger players such as Mattner, Thompson, Burton, Reilly, Skipworth & Doughty. Even when games have been in the balance, we have had our gun midfielders on the bench or resting up forward. Craig has been one for spreading the load & an eye to the future.

IMO, the Pies need to rebuild the midfield & increase the rotations to take the pressure of the likes of Buckley, Burns & Licuria. You have some handy young KPP coming through, but do you have much in the way of young midfield talent?

If I were a Pies supporter, I would not be happy at all with the attitude of Woewodin or Licuria (who I really rate - was he injured?)

COLLINGWOOD
1. Anthony Rocca (Achilles tendon) season
2. Rhyce Shaw (knee) season
3. Cameron Cloke (shoulder) season
4. Sean Rusling (collarbone) season
5. David King (knee) season
6. Tristen Walker (ankle) season
7. Richard Cole (hand) season
8. Chris Tarrant (knee) season
9. Josh Fraser (knee) season
10. Brayden Shaw (ankle) season
11. Alan Didak (illness) 1 week
12. Ben Johnson
13. Ryan Lonie
14. Chris Egan
15. Iacobucci, Adam
16. Tom Davidson

Injuries make for a lovely consolation, however answer this:
How many MIDFIELDERS (apart from ruckmen) have been injured for long periods this season?
I'm talking these players:
O'Bree
Holland
Licuria
Burns
???

Perhaps we can add Rowe, Davies(?), R. Shaw, Johnno into that group, and maybe even Davis and Didak, despite the last two clearly being forward most of their career so far. So there becomes a bit of an excuse, with Rhyce and Johnno missing huge amounts of the season, and Dids/Davis also missing consistently.

The issue isn't our well known lack of forwards due to injury (Tarrant, Rocca, Fraser, C2, C3, Didak, Rusling) when there's 13 inside 50s to none, and a scoreline of 2.7 to zero. The issue is the lack of skill/effort by the backline/midfielders, where we are at (almost) peak strength (Clement, Presti, Wakes).

Maybe missing Rhyce and Johnno across half back is what's hurting us the most?

Collingwood are a disgrace. You guys have basically tanked it to get priority picks. You have got the best facilities, oodles of money and supporters, a high profile President, and supposedly a gun coach and you are going to finish 15th/16th. Shame, Shame, Shame.

There's no way the Pies are tanking....they just looked like a team who couldn't wait for the season to end.

Cant wait for end of season = tanking

BTW Licuria is injured. Thats why he's played forward a lot in the past month. So is Caracella Holland and Buckley. These blokes are forced to play when they should be rested.

the least you could ask is for the blokes who pull on the guernsey to give a stuff

sadly, the majority who ran out on Saturday couldnt have giving a flying ******** what the outcome was

Licuria has carried an injured calf since round 4 , he went from averaging mid 30's to early 20's a game.
