To bring back in Jason Saddington.

He always seems to do well in the ants and we have some under performing defenders.
He was playing good at the end of last year.

Bring him back Ratts.

Won't play again in the navy blue jumper. Will be gone at years end.

An option at CHF

Let's bring Tony Liberatore out of retirement and play him at CHF too. He could be a fantastic option up forward.

Actually, let's just chuck everybody and anybody up there to see how they go.

No offense intended here DC, but seriously instead of looking to plug up gaps let's look toward the future. Saddington is not, and never will be a part of it.

I'm all for the youth, but if we're desperate he is there. Austin should be playing CHB and Waite should be playing CHF.

Probably needs a new thread this but it is quite obvious that we still have a few deficiencies before we can honestly challenge for a top four so here goes:

Defence - Needs significant body strength - Jamison very good full back, Build around him. We need to get a Michael Hurley ( Vic Metro) if he is still available at pick 6-8. Watched him on Wednesday and showed excellent composure (unlike thornton and waite in defence) and his very well built. Waite shouldn't be allowed behind the centre of the ground as he is not up to it as a defender. Don't get on here and tell me he is. Start being realistic about this bloke's ability to play as a defender. Thornton is in the same category as waite (opposition teams allow him to have the ball as they know he will cook it) Bower is o.k - leave him there just needs to gain more confidence in his body when he gets back and Awareness.
Others include - Carrazzo, Austin, Anderson, Browne, Walker. We may also need to develop a polished half back flanker (ala gilbee)
Midfield- Polished and will be even better when Krueze and Hammer get more experience.
May need to look for another big man as there are plenty in this year's draft. For me if Tyson Vickery is still available we need to get him as (like hurley) he showed plenty on wednesday. Very composed as well. This is not a problem.
Love to get Hamish Hartlett - but he doesn't suit our needs
Forwards - We need to support Fev here. Fev is a superstar but if he wants to much we can't afford to be paying him 15% of the teams salary. Therefore, if he leaves go after JB.
Waite needs to play forward and Hartlett needs to play to see if we are going to keep him. Betts getting better every week. Fisher no longer and same for wiggins and edwards.
This year's draft will have plenty of forwards to choose from.
Target - Lewis Johnson for South Australia also need to find another small forward like Chris Yarran. The players i have mentioned are based on what i saw on Wednesday and prior to this. All of these boys won't be available but that is what i think could help us.

In summary we aren't far of moving up the ladder but we need to be patient as the good ones will take time. I have criticised a lot in the past but that doesn't achieve anything. I call it as i see it. Feel free to reply

OK i agree with some of the posters here, but shouldn't he be given one more chance. The guy is ripping apart VFL and does deserve to have one more crack. He's not too old and after yesterdays performance, it definitely wouldn't hurt given him a try.
But with saying that, i really want to see Austin blooded in the next few weeks. I'm sure he's more than deserved his place in the side.

Saddo has had several chances and never seems to fit in or offer enough.. Yes I would give him a run but long term and immediate Austin must get in.
There have been plenty of players who shine in the VFL WAFL SANFL and just cannot make that step up. I think Saddo is on that fine line where the window of opp is closing if not slammed!

I don't disagree with you but all those kids you want in this draft, we'll only get 1 of them, as they will all be gone by our 2nd pick.

I would be targeting the teams with the priority pick before 2nd round & try to trade to get 1 of those picks.

Eg. Fisher & Thornton may have some clubs interested.

Austin has been demanding another chance for a month now and IS part of our future so why would you play Saddington ahead of Austin? Doesn't make sense to me...
