2005 rookie list
aisake
setanta
smith
becker
pleming
batson

pleming and becker delisted
setanta elevated
leaves 3 spots

some players i think would be worth putting on the rookie list are kris shore-1st round pick kpp obvious talent just wasnt given opportunities
ash watson-also from kangas, very similar to simmo-wouldnt that be a mouthwatering sight-simmo on one wing, watson on the other!
and ruory kirkby-was rated very highly this time last year-was touted as a 1st rounder. rookie listed by hawks but let go.

this would give us 2 kpp and one fast mid.

then draft
1. murphy
4. hurn, or kennedy if still available
20. dowler if still there, if not matt spangher
36. heath hocking or jessie white
78. punt on young player who was delisted-say hopefully logan.

then psd 1. mclaren

summing up we coould get 3-4 young mids, one 23 y.o ruckman, and 4-5 kpp.

not a bad plan! thoughts?????

also...how does one change their name on bigfooty? i think i may have to.....

Looks good mate, a few holes filled in. I like the look of Shore, yet there must be something we dont know about Kirkby? As you said touted as a first rounder, then only rokie listed now let go. You're right about PSD, need a young ruckmen (actually decent) more than smallish mid.

yeah that all sounds good except for Watson, dont like the look of him. I reckon we need bulk.
thats true, we do need bulk, so thats y ive got us getting a couple of kpp. we do also need fast skillful mids which i believe is what watson is...cant hurt putting him on the rookie list and giving him a go, can it?

If only it was a cunning plan!!..........seriously, I'd be looking to go after Selwood in the PSD as we desperately need a tagger. McLaren IMO is just another DeLuca/Bryan type. Sure, we need another Ruckman, but Selwood projects as the better long term prospect for mine.

Kirkby is an interesting one for sure......but as Blueboy27 stated there has to be something we're missing for him to be overlooked, rookie Listing then dumped after 1 season. I'd rather give him a miss.

I think Smith, A.O'hailpin & Batson will get another year as rookies, with S.O'hailpin obviously proimoted to the Senior List. The 3 remaining Rookie spots for 2006 will also depend on how our normal draft takes shape. I'd hope we'd be targeting 2 KPP and 1 midfielder to finish off the Rookie List.

What about Selwood in the PSD? We have to take the best player no matter what position they play. We can't afford to allow the best go in order to pick a player to fill in one of our gaps.

They were both on the veteran's list in 2005 as well. Camporeale hasn't been delisted as Carlton are going to force him to go in the PSD and not allow him to train with Essendon until he is delisted. This is the first list lodgement and Camporeale is still officially a member of our team.
