Ok so I know we have spoken about this game before but I was wondering if any of you gamers out there have a career going right now?

Im with Liverpool and Lincoln City. I run two teams, the Reds in top flight and Lincoln City who are a division 3 side.

First season with Liverpool I didnt win any silverware and finished 5th in the league, losing the last champions league spot on the last day of the season to Leeds.

Start of the second season is when I decided to take on a second team with Lincoln City. Im sitting in 19th in 3rd division with about 10 games to go but im safe from relegation. Was going strong midway through the season and got into 7th and a playoff spot but since then I have gone through a shocking spell and have spiralled down the ladder.

As for Liverpool I have sold Milan Baros because he simply cant score. Brought in Heltinga and Jorge Costa to help in defence, sold Smicer, Heskey and Biscan. Bought Landon Donovan and he is going alright for me.

Diouf is a machine on the game I play him behind the front two. My big catch though was getting Diego Tristan. He's up front alongside Owen, also brought D'Allesandro into midfield from River for 20 million. He's quality.

So im sitting in 4th in the league with 10 games left, still in the UEFA Cup and the FA Cup. Damn addictive game...

Anybody else got a career going?

Yes, i have a career going current with Liverpool. Im only playing on Semi Pro :) So im doing quite well. In the first season i sold Heskey. Harry Kewell was a scoring machine when he moved up from with Owen. I won all the trophies in the first season and i brought Theiry Henry with the money from Heskey. I haven't played lately because my time i limited.

Just started a new one a couple of days ago (CM 4, 2002/2003 season).
Trying to save Kettering Town from relegation from the conference this season, and build the squad for an attempt at promotion next season. Need some cup success to get us out of debt. Currently 1-2-2 in 17th.

I rarely play as premier league teams as they usually aren't enough of a challenge.

Just bought Louis Saha from Barcelona. He was sold to Barca and then couldnt get a game so his value went right down to 3.6 mill. He is quality!

Also got Djibril Cisse on a free from Auxerre but now I have major forward logjam. I have Owen, Tristan, Cisse, Donovan, Saha, Mellor (quality not given a run) and Diouf who is goal scoring machine on the game.

Started extremely well in my third season after winning the FA Cup, UEFA Cup double last season. Im currently 5-0-0 from my first 5 EPL games and Im unbeaten in everything else except the Champions league. I drew Milan, Villareal, Sparta Prague if I remember correctly.

Beat Villa and Sparta but lost 2-1 to Milan. Still Im well placed to go through.

I made some key signings with Lincoln in the offseason aquiring some real talent. Lee and Thompsen up front and a host of other players including a real quality centre back but I brought in about 8 new players and most are in the first team so I think they are having trouble gelling. Currently 2-2-6 in the early part of the season. Got them all on free's too because I have no money to spend.

Annoying that I cant beat division 3 sides yet playing in the first round of the league cup I get drawn against Div 1 side Wimbledon and then I get a player sent off in the 30th minute. So my unpredictable club bangs in 3 goals in the second half to win 3-0. Then in the second round it takes top flight Tottenham 79 minutes to finally break us and we lose 1-0.

Frustrating.

I was a bit tired of playing the lower leagues for so long (had an 8 season game where I built a conf. side up to Div.1 lost to a virus... so I started a game in CM4 with Chelsea, with heaps of money before they bought any players.

I had about 80 million pounds and I bought Dyer, Kewell and Joe Cole.

First season I was only in the UEFA Cup, however I got knocked out in the semi's. In the EPL, I was winning and seemed to have the thing won until Man Utd stole the cup from me on the last day of the season after I lost about 3 games in a row to blow an 8 ponit lead. Frustrating!

Leeds got relegated so I stole Viduka for a million, and I needed a defender so I got Henchoz from Liverpool. By this point my wage bill was absolutely huge so I offloaded few players I wasn't using.

Second season went well, I was ontop halfway through again, before a midseason slump put me down the table and my recovery was too late. I came 2nd again, this time to Arsenal. In the CL I was eliminated in the quarters to Bayern Munich. For some reason, I had trouble scoring goals and my defense was awesome this season, whereas last year I had about 100 goals in 38 games.

The board are frustrated, they expected silverware and I haven't delivered any! My job currently appears as 'insecure' on the info screen. I was offered the position of Rangers manager but I have decided to try and stay and try and win something.

That 5-0-0 start that Liverpool were having went all wrong. Got it to 8-0-0 and then played Arsenal at Highbury. Managed a 1-1 draw but then I drew the next 3 games aswell to fall to 8-4-0 but I was still unbeaten and 6 points clear.

But those draws were just my slow decrease into woeful form. Hyypia decides he wants a new challenge and wants out? Gerrard, Diouf and Zidane all get injured and the board doesnt think Cheyrou should be playing for us. So a shocking run of injuries and form has left us 5 points behind Arsenal and sitting in 4th in the league, also behind Man U and Chelsea. But with still about 12 games left Im still right in the hunt for the premiership.

Champs League though was frustrating. Was in a great position after 3 games and then lost my last three to get bundled out. Then I went into the UEFA and got beat by Benfica so Im completely out of Europe.

As for my Lincoln side in Div 3. After my 2-2-6 start I won 4 straight to jump up the standing. Sitting in about 12th at the moment which is better than last years 19th. Still about 12 or so games to go and Im only 8 or so points out of a playoff spot. So it might come together yet.

Started a new career with Wigan in Div.1 in Cm 03/04 this week.

Finished 8th in league after being touted as a relegation battle team...although i did lose quite a lot of games. I lost in round 2 of league cup to Premiership side Charlton, and in round 3 of FA Cup to Premiership side Leceister...things are looking up for season 2 though, bought in a heap of players on free transfer and sold off a lot of dead weight, with the most notable addition being Sunday Olisheh (sp? is off my head, i know its wrong) from Borrusia Dortmund.

I feel with my current squad I can push for promotion into the premier league this season...hope all goes well!

After not accepting the Rangers position while my job was under threat at Chelsea, I was sacked by Chelsea a week later and rejected by Rangers! And Chelsea even decided to hire Ranieri back as their manager! I finished 2nd both seasons and got to the late stages in Europe so I think I was dealt a harsh blow:(

And now for a challenge completely different, I've accept a position at Crewe in Division 1, with a non-existant wage bill (and a squad to match). Should be fun trying to build them up to something impressive.

Can't wait to build them up into Chelsea-beaters!

I still play some of the older versions of CM.

I love taking on little clubs, it's a real challenge. Just recently I got offered the Kidderminster Harriers job, newly promoted from the Conference.

With sod all money & no players to start with I've built a squad that's in a playoff spot at X-mas. Schoolboy signings, free transfers & some loanee's & we're off!

Taking over big clubs on the slide can be interesting too.

Back for another update. I finished up my 3rd season with Liverpool and second with Lincoln City. Was a strange season for the Reds, we dominated early and then fell in a hole. But I hung around and everybody else seemed to come back to me.

So on the final day I found myself 1 point behind Arsenal. Man U were out of it being 4 points behind Arsenal. The gunners took on Leeds who finished 4th at Highbury and I was up against Portsmouth who finished last and were relegated at Anfield.

So I thought if Leeds could grind out a draw at Highbury and I take care of business at home the premiership was mine. Sadly I did my part through an Owen specialty but Arsenal won 2-0 and won the premieship. I also won nothing...lose to the same Arsenal squad in the FA Cup final, 2-1. Man U won the League Cup and Champions League.

But Ive brought in a few players for next year to hopefully get over the line. I bought Lewis Buxton from the relegated Portsmouth. He will pair Kevin Hofland in central defence. Henchoz (32) and Costa (33) are a little old now. I also brought in Pavel Nedved, at 32 he is a little old but he is class! So Ill get the season under way tonight.

As for Lincoln City. My first year saw me finish 19th, a year later I have moved up to 14th but Im still a fair way out of those playoff spots for a chance at the second division. I bought Stephen Vaughan, a discarded youth player from Liverpool and I got Juan, another dicarded youth player from Arsenal. RB and LB so my defence is a little better. With a couple of midfielders on loan and Dean Cropper, Jonny Bell and Alan Lee up front hopefully I do enough in the coming season to move up??

yeah i got it, pretty much the same tbh. i never played cm 04 much becuase of the huge amount of bugs, so i can't on any new features, but the layout/skins and everything of the games is identical

cm 03/04 once you donwload patch 4.0.5 (think thats what it is called off memory, patch no.5 none the less) works pretty cool and i haven't had no problems with the game

Another update:

After taking the job at Crewe, I was about 30-35 games into the season and hanging in there at 10th, just outside a playoff spot. I was cruising early on in the season but the squad simply wasn't quality and we couldn't hold our position.

In the 4th round of the FA Cup I got to play my old club, Chelsea at my home ground. It was 1-1 and it was looking good for a replay and a nice financial windfall when they scored in injury time to win:(

We were just beginning what could be a deadly losing streak when I was offered the job at Charlton, who were nailed down the bottom of the PL table. They were 12 points down with about 15 games left and it will be very tough to save this mob. Morale is rock-bottom, I've played 2 games so far, both 0-0 draws. They have no attacking spark AT ALL.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I managed to put in a good run of form, but 2 of my last 3 were away to Chelsea and Man Utd, I lost both and was releagated. To rub the salt in, not only did my old team beat me in the game that got me relegated, they won the League/Champions League double.

I'm not that dirty about being relegated though. The board expected it and I have been able to clean a lot of crap out of my squad. Also, Scott Parker accepted a lower wage contract and will be staying:)

With the squad I have I expect to win the Division easily...

Its interesting that you take other jobs. Im not one to take offers from other clubs. I feel that I have an obligation to stick it out and see if I can bring them up. Ive never accepted a job from another club whilst still managing a club.

Still I should think about it as Im heading into my third year with Lincoln City in Div 3 with no real steps forward...

Well with Crewe, their stadium was only 10,000 strong and even though they had 8 Million in the bank the CM4 engine I probably wouldn't have gotten any stadium upgrades.

If I play with a lower league team (Div 3 or Conference) then I will stick with them but I don't feel the same sense of loyalty with higher ranked teams. I still feel dirty about being fired from Chelsea despite finishing 2nd twice and making the semis of the UEFA Cup and Champs League:mad: so I really want to get into a position where I can beat them...who better than their London rivals?

Anyway I'm with Charlton in Div 1, I managed to cut my wage bill from about 270,000 p/w to about 190,000 without losing any top class players (I did lose Koncheskey though). I did gain Lua-Lua on a bosman. One frustrating thing is that with all of my previous clubs (Chelsea, Crewe and now Charlton) I've been trying to pry Darren Ambrose away from Ipswich but even though they're in Div 2 he won't leave them.

4 games into the new season and it seems pretty easy so far. To be honest I expect to cruise to relegation (the board expect no less either).

Very fun and addictive game!

btw jod, what's the most seasons you've gotten into a game? I got 7 seasons in with Leigh RMI...I built them up from the conference to division 1 in that time and I lost the save to a virus. I could have killed the computer that day.

Ive been trying the same with Kewell at Leeds but he just wont leave. Frustrating, when I finally satisfy them with enough money, he rejects the move...

I went right through with my cousin. He was Leeds, I was Liverpool. I thought it was 25 seasons but entering my 21st season, the screen came up with my retirement news and all that. I was disappointed but Im sure I went down as the most legendary Liverpool manager of all time :D

I won the league 8 times in 20 years, Champions League 4 times in 20 years, FA Cup about 6 times and the League cup about 3 times. I was dominant! My cousins won the league 4 times with Leeds and the Champions League once.

Thats the best I have ever done. I had Owen, Klose up front for the first 8 or so years :D Had Owen, Gerrard, Murphy and Kewell who I bought off my cousin right through til retirement. Needless to say, all sad days. I was dominant. ****ed off my cousin too because he is English born and of course believes he knows more about the game and so forth :D

Oh and to be fair on my cuz... In my third year of my storied time with LFC, I hadnt won a thing and I was on the brink of being sacked. I even had the news "your next result decided your job" and all that.

So my cuz helped me out, changed up my formation and just gave me a few pointers. I took them and ran with them :D Needless to say he still claims that he is to thank for my wonderful reign as Liverpool manager.

When I was with Chelsea I found that 20 Million pounds and 70 grand a week did the trick:D

Update....sitting in 4th in the premier league still with half the season to go. Still in the FA Cup and Im in the semi of the League Cup against Man U. Into the second phase of the champions league too so the season is going alright. Still it could go bad or it could go well.

Owen and Tristan up front keep playing 8's and 9's but arent scoring. Were half way through the season and I think I have about 12 or 14 goals between them. Not good enough.

Lincoln are all over the shop. Finished 14th last season and I though we were poised to make a move for the playoffs but we have gone sadly backwards and are in a pretty tough relegation battle. If im relegated Ill resign but I think Ill stay up.

Hey guys,

Im in season 2017 with Inter Milan. I dont buy any players anymore instead I use players from my youth teams and so far into this season 27 games, 25 wins and 2 draws.

I had Freddy Adu since he was 14 yrs old... sold him 13 seaosns later for 37.5 mil pounds.

As for my winnings.. in 14 seasons

8 Scudetto's (SERIE A).. plus currently 5 in a row.. make that 6 soon.
4 Champs League
4 Toyota Cups
5 Copa Italia's
4 Euro super cup
6 Italian super cups

I havent played in about 3 weeks but this game is addictive. Once I started playing midday and stopped playing it 3am. Its incredible I just love it!
