Really sorry for Tugga, he put a lot of emotion into this club and got right behind them. And for all the other people who supported them.
I was nearly going to buy a membership at one stage, and still might if they can get through this.

How long did Waldron spend out our club and more to the point, what was his role ..D

Enjoy your prison time sunshine
We dodged a major bullet by getting rid of him. One of the few good administrative changes we've made in the last couple of decades.

Here's a few older threads vaguely eluding to some of his wheelings and dealings at Tigerland. A few other posters were onto him too. He's always been a sheister.

Brian Waldron

Waldron and Mal Brown

Swooper on Waldron

Waldron's been well and truly covered on this board from way back.

Add to this list if you want, but the ramifications from this, and why you wouldn't want to be Waldron et al.

Other supporters of clubs that missed out on premiership
Those that had a bet and lost lots of money
Their own supporters
Their own players who would be filthy
Lack of total respect

I'm with tugga on this one... I too am a massive Storm fan and am feeling totally empty.

Canterbury rorted 1.1 million over 2 years and only lost their points for that season we average 340,000 over 5 years and lose everything. Canterbury and the NRL need to be expunged from existence long before the Storm.

Totally p!ssed off.

Same here. Empty is definitely the word - I have so many questions but yet speechless at the same time.

I was never a fan of League till I went along and saw a game 4 years ago. Loved it, loved the Storm - shattered.

Apparently one of the blokes implicated was with Waldron at St Kilda. I wonder if Vlad will consider having a look back at their books for that period of time.

The bit I don’t understand is why the hell you would keep a separate book that is as damaging and illegal in the first place. It’s not like you could use it for any other purpose… Wally by name, Wally by nature.

Pathetic Organisation :mad: I mean how stupid are these people ?

But do you know what at the end of the day people wont give a shit, just look at what happened to Carlton. Carlton are still stealing (pokies money) and bending the rules (Judd @ Visy), what happens ? Nothing.

yeah

so when Gallop and Co. stormed into the "storm" offices the guy showing them through the place said ...

... "now over here are all the files , paperwork etc and over there in that other cabinet is the real books that shows all our rorting"

it just wreaks of a massive stunt ... i don't buy it

In NSW and QLD a massive breath of life has blown through the competition reinvigorating it instead of the continued Melbourne domination that was looming (up until a week or two ago anyway) shoring up the game in its heartlands where it has been flagging , the severity of the penalties does not add up for mine and wreaks of theatre

The last 3-4 years the storm has been forced to let go a raft of stars due to the constraints . Just off the top of my head ...

Matt King
Matt Orford
Israel Folou
Jeremy Smith
Will Chambers
Steve Bell
Scott Hill

Heaps more whose names escape me ... We pay 4 blokes Cam Smith , Greg Ingliss , Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk ... the rest are practically a revolving door around those 4 , Throw in Ryan Hoffman

I just don't buy it

Same. Its very strange.

And for Gallop to come out and say the Storm were glad and more than happy to accept the penalty just doesnt sit right. You would think they would challenge parts of it, and at the same time go after Waldron big time. Will be interesting to see what takes place in the next few weeks.

The news LTD bloke said himself in the presser that their are ..."a couple of rats" at the top end they would be going after ...

That being the case ...why penalise a whole organisation like this in such a drastic , devastating fashion .... and to just cop it on the chin

The more i think about it the more gobsmacked i am

I wonder where this leaves the Melbourne Rebels?

Just feel for the players and supporters. Unbelievable really.

The brand name "Storm" has really been through the wringer over the past couple of years.
