I know the Lions have changed their logo a couple of times, but...

It is Channel 9, and they suck ass more than Channel 7.

Up here in QLD, every match with the Lions and Suns is shown on free-to-air, mostly on 7mate via FoxFooty, regardless of the timeslot and opponent.

However, the NRL only shows matches with the Broncos, Cowboys or Titans if it is on Thursday/Friday night or Sunday afternoon.

So we didn’t see the Broncos–Titans match on Saturday but did get the Sea Eagles–Sharks on Sunday.

In summary, the Suns get 17 free-to-air matches in QLD this year, whereas the Titans probably won’t get any.

And on a side note, SportsBet have been showing the new West Coast logo with the old navy-white-yellow background these past few weeks.

The idea is that by not showing their matches, it will increase attendances and it’s worked to an extent; the Titans average around 10,000 at home compared to the earlier Gold Coast team (Giants/Seagulls/Chargers) which averaged around 4,000.

Also, the Cowboys did not get a game on free-to-air TV until 2001, six years after they joined.

And bringing it back to topic, the Titans have had the same logo since their foundation; to avoid the identity issues that the original Gold Coast had.
