First it was reported by the AFL and Pies that Beam's contract was incl. In the salary cap.

Then Beams has come out and contradicted what the Pies and AFL had previously reported.

Our Board refuses to comment.

The AFL claimed they didn't know but to trust them that there is nothing to see here

Why does Collingwood need to comment?
I’m sure given the players they moved on for cap space, they would have spoken with the AFL on Beams so they could prepare for it as well.

It’s something the AFL can explain if required.

As for the ex-player? I’m surprised he would have been involved or cared much about whether his payment was included in or out of the cap.
