Hall of Famer
I remember when I had to sleep at the ground in a queue during school holidays in 1967 to get finals tickets. Child abuse! I was nearly 11, but as I was already doing a morning paper round, my dad thought I was up to it.

Spoiled bloody brat.I remember getting my first Geelong footy jumper and chucking and absolute shit fit because my mum was not going to get my numbers I wanted on the back.
Apparently the shit fit worked as I got my 33 - Bruce Nankervis - that I still have to this day.
Go Catters
Spoiled bloody brat.
I remember when...
We played for peanuts
Washed our own gear
Cleaned and re-studded our own boots
Boiled and whitened our own laces
Took our own orange to eat during game breaks
Played 120 minutes without coming off, or getting a drink through game-time
Played on flooded ovals, clay mud heaps, and half-grassed dung hills
I remember when...
Supporters stood out in the rain and didn't need a roof or dome to protect their metro-sexual hair gel and skin softeners
I remember when...
You'd get king-hit and the umpire would say, "You've got 5 minutes to bury him,.. after that I'll report you"
The showers were mostly cold - You'd wash off the mud and blood, then go have a beer and a laugh with the enemy
I remember when...
Love of the game was motivation enough
But most of all, I remember when...
Football was still 'the game of the people' - the real people
The only thing I don't remember is...
Ever complaining...
Oh, unless some thieving bastard knocked off my orange![]()

lol!... My dogs owned the fireplace in winter, FredAbsolutely spot-on HTR.
You forgot the bit about trying to get into the boots the next week after you tried to dry them too quick on the hearth in front of the fire.![]()

I remember the peanut man.
lol!... My dogs owned the fireplace in winter, Fred
Had a backup pair of White Diamonds (Remember them? Construction boots with stops)
Some good cross-town memories here http://www.gwspsc.org/ClubHistory/FootballGreats.aspxI remember going to see Geelong West VFA games and watching Joe Radojovic

To be honest with you, I don't remember the name of my favourite boot, but White Diamond ran a close second. I'll put it down to the accident/memory loss of the late '90sNot Jenkins Goalers?
... So frustrating at times! - Jenkins does ring a bell though (with apology to any old forgotten girlfriend with that surname)
Right there is the tackling coach we need.I remember getting a 2 page, hand-written letter from my favourite player of the time, Mark Bos-I put it under my pillow and told my mum never to touch it!
