I remember a mate of mine making Jimmy do kicking practice before he would drive him to cricket on a Saturday morning.

The only full back to hold Peter Hudson goalless, wasn't he?, and that was in an interstate match. As a kid, I remember the weird feeling seeing 'our boys' line-up in State games against 'our boys.' Gary Malarkey in a WA jumper, when he would kick out from full-back, just didn't look right without the Hoops.

My brother had a crystal set in the 60's. I remember pulling it apart to check out the "crystal". I had trouble putting it back together.Using a CRYSTAL SET??
I did-- one of the pleasures of life as a kid in the early 60's. Very few here would appreciate the amazing revelation of radio using this small device.
I still think the majority of a draftees are picked for football skills, I can think of three outside the box picks (Blicavs, Luxford and Bathie) all three of whom cost us relatively little, one has failed, one has succeeded and the other has been training with us for a week.I remember when players were drafted mainly for football skills.

Back then 3GL had Leo O'Halloran calling the football
It's started too swing back a little too drafting footballers.... a few years back it was almost an obsession to draft athletes who had a bit of ability
Lucky we for the most part in that time drafted footballers .. Jimmy, SJ etc
Yeah, I remember when we recruited a fat, undersized, ginger forward from the Falcons and he turned out to be the best tagger of the modern era, premiership captain and now one of the most beloved and respected figures in the game.Yeah Geelong only did it for a very brief time (David Clarke), before long the pendulum swung back hard and thankfully we only recruited footballers - Bartel, Johnson, Ling especially.

I remember footy season, when the funny-farm gates are closed.

I could still see my toes
Married a girl I was more than keen on.
At least it lasted and they're still together in WA.
The bugger cut your lunch?!!!
