I think we're two years away from finals

You do realise Weagles were on the bottom last year.

Have hope, we will play finals next year.

They had a number of good senior players out injured in 2010.
That does not apply to us.
The majority of our senior players are average at best.

Last night's game really showed the level you need to be at as a side to win in this league. Both of these sides smashed us. Long way off.

I agree Cudi but I think it is 2014 at best.
Our side is a 13th place team.
We all need to remember that we lost a lot of games this year by big margins.
We lost one game by 30 goals.
It will be the same basic team next year that acheived these results in 2011.
Our senior players are ordinary, it may be quite a wait for the kids to come through.

I think when Trengove gets to around 23 or 24 we'll be really rolling.

Viney and his two first round buddies will be 20ish.

Grimes, Watts, Frawley, Martin will be around 25 to 28.

And a staggering number of high picks all between 22 and 27.

History says when you get into this situation, you win flags.

Jnr and Bruce were playing in 2010
Add to that Green had what might have been his best year.
Davey had a reasonable year.
Forward to 2011.
No Jnr or Bruce ( imo Big loss of experience )
Green had what maybe his worst year and Davey had his worst year.
Now looking at 2012
Green will be 31 in March I do not believe he will ever get back to 2010 form.
Davey! who knows but I think he is past it. He has slowed and that was one of his main attributes. He is now easily taken out of the game by a close check.
Until our kids mature we are serious short of good senior players.
I only expect minor improvement next year.
No 30 goal losses and reduce the big losses to sides in the eight is about the best we can hope to acheive.

The OP's prediction was looking good for a while there. After making more progress than expected in 2010 we followed up with a bright start to 2011. In round 17 we scored a fairly comfortable win over Port Adelaide that left us in 9th place, just 4 points and percentage out of the eight. The next two weeks saw bad losses to our two bogey sides ... a 10 goal loss to Hawthorn and the 186 point loss to Geelong. The coach was sacked and the rest is history.

We lost by over 7 and 15 goals in our first two games of 2012... think you might have the wrong year haha
