I think Essendon is the danger game this week. What most people forget is Hawthorn actually lost the following week after we beat St. Kilda in 1999, and from what I remember we played terribly. Essendon have to travel to Port, a difficult task for any team, so the Power may be a chance this week.
For once my footy tipping skills and ridiculous predictions came off, and the Power gave me an unlikely tip. Does anyone else think that last week's huge game against the Kangaroos was a factor in yesterday's loss? Take nothing away from Port, a fantastic effort, but it's interesting to note 3 of the 4 games Essendon has lost in the past 2 years have come the week AFTER a big match.
ie. Bulldogs last year - week after the big Essendon v Carlton showdown at the MCG.
Brisbane this year- week after the Essendon v Hawthorn match, which they won easily, but said afterwards it was the most pumped they had been for a match all season.
Port - the North classic the week before
