Which is ironic when you consider the huge fuss made back in 2006 when the AFL rebuffed the Crows whinge about him not being eligible as a father-son selection

[Ross Gibbs played 250 games for Glenelg (200 of which were before 1991)]
Regardless of the merits of that decision, we were too late. Gibbs played his good football at Carlton. He's finished, along with many of our senior players.

Not that good. Overpaid dime-a-dozen neatly-skilled B-grade midfielder. He was okay. Just never really lived up to the draft hype. If he wasn't a former number 1 draft pick and if didn't play most of his career for a struggling side who were crying out for some legitimate A-graders, then nobody would ever really talk about him. He would just blend in & do his job like every other midfielder of his ilk.

Not his fault. It's just a side-effect of the National Draft. The media and fans put a lot of expectations on these guys which they're not always capable of living up to. People think the kids in the 1st round must be future All Australians or else they're failures. Sometimes they're just good average players. Nothing special.

He had a clear run with injury. He received many opportunities and played alongside some good players in Judd and Murphy.

Hard to measure the ambition, competitiveness and inner drive of a hundred 17yo kids to determine which will become champions.

Yep. It's time for the Crows to rebuild.
