Nothing against the Crows players, some real good goers in that team and deserved their 2 flags (even though I still say in 1997, Geelong were robbed)

I hate them because of their coach. A man who sistimatically runied the careers of many Geelong champions.

Ablett - played him in the 2s, he did his knee, he never played again. Would Kevin Sheedy put Hird or Lloyd in the reserves, or would Denis Pagan put Wayne Carey in the reserves? I think not.

Bairstow - Only played 150 games, Ayres wouldn't renew his contract at age 29, despite the fact he was the captain.

Couch, Hinkley, S.Hocking (199 games), Brownless (198 games) and Barnes are the others. Good to see Barnes sticking it up him at Essendon.

The man can't coach, proof was when he coached against Geelong in round 3. He had Jarman on the bench, fit and with the game in the balance, he decided to teach him a lesson for not chasing! Jarman's so good, he doesn't need to chase. The same thing happened aginst Essendon.

There were a few famous incidents at Geelong. One was when he had Garry Hocking at full back on Cresswell last year for the first 3 quarters, neddless to say, the game was gone at 3qtr time. Hocking in the middle in the last qtr, Geelong outscore the opposition, remarkable isn't it.

The other, less celebrated incident has only recently been released by Paul Couch in the local Geelong paper, it concerned the day that Ayres had Ablett, Barnes and Couch on the bench late in a game (no's 5, 6, 7). He sent down a message saying that having the 3 stars sitting on the bench would make a good photo in the morning's paper, and they wouldn't be put back on for the rest of the day. He didn't even care about coaching for the rest of the game, just how everyone would look in the morning's paper.

I feel sorry for the Crows, because he simply cannot coach. They have a good nucleus of players but he will soon get rid of them. No doubt, this will be the last year we see Jarman in action.

He took a Geelong GF team under Malcolm Blight in 1994/5 to 12th in the space of 4 years, Since he's left (along with Colbert) we've got to 4th as of this round.

Thanks Garry, you did us a favour. The first decent move you ever made at Geelong was to leave.
