Every time I think we are in with a slight chance I get let down badly.

I don't expect a win but just 4 quarters for "hard at the ball" footy. That's all I'm asking. Anything extra will be a bonus but it will be good to see the guys go into the game with the extra confidence of the win on the weekend.

Good luck boys....see you all at the game!

I don't really give us a shot. I think last year I probably would have but this year gives me a different perspective about Richmond.

It's not even really about winning and losing anymore. It's about developing a quality list and a quality gameplan and winning a premiership.

All I want is commitment from the boys. It's gonna be tough, we are very young and have played a very physically taxing game and have a 6 day break! So I suspect we will fade after half time. But it's just so great to watch the club these days. It's a total different feel to the TW era. There aren't those question marks bout the club and our direction.

Interesting, Grant Thommas said last night, that the win in those conditions was worth 4 compared to a 5 or 6 goal slick win in ideal conditions.

I’m just very worried about all the young players being involved in an 258 tackle game and 6 day break, will be mentally and physically fatigued. Deep down, I hope we make 4-5 changes just to bring in freshness.

rfctigerarmy: Don't get me wrong. I love going to the footy for all the same reasons and it's also why I'm there every home game!

But it's just when I get it in my head that we should play a half decent game that I get let down.

It's all apart of the process I guess. It's just an exciting time to be watching the club as I'm sure within the next few years we will be a very competitive outfit.

I completely agree about last weeks game being very taxing on the players, so this will be a very big test and will be a huge step forward if they can follow up last week with a good four quarter effort this week.

As taxing as it was, also consider the amount of energy and enthusiasm the team will have now. They will be pumped up to repeat the performance I am sure!

Psychologically pumped will only take them so far. The young bodies are my worry. I would hate to be competitive for 3qtrs and go into the last and get smashed.

And remember, the Saints have smashed most in the final qtrs more than any other team this year. They have been super strong finishers.

The Saints always seem to be the team we run into when we've shown a bit of form and invariably they bring us crashing back to reality. We haven't beaten them since round 4 2003. Friday night, I'll be there and I'll be excited as I have been this year, for the simple reason that it will be great to see how our kids go fronting up against one of the best in the business. For that reason I hope we get the Saints on a night when they are on. Even if we were to just fall short, imagine how great it would feel walking out of the Dome Friday night having seen us take it up to last years runners up with such a young lineup, the only thing better would be walking away with a second straight win obviously.

Even if we get belted, I won't be walking away too disappointed as long as I see a few things from the kids that put a little smile on the dial, i.e. Jack kicks another 4-5, Griffiths take 8-10 grabs and kicks a couple of goals, Martin/Cotchin matching it with someone like Hayes. For these are small victories that can be taken from a losing performance that remind you what the season is all about.

And therein lies the problem, i want continuity iin the team for a while (minimal changes), but then you think maybe we should bring in a few, just for the fresh legs. Jackson, Connors, Foley and a couple of others would have been handy to have at our disposal this week given the conditions last week. So long as we're competative this week, and rested to beat the Eagles next week, i'll be happy.

Just follow the 2010 supporters game plan.
Watch the kids. Watch the kids. Watch the kids.
If anything 'happens' then it's a bonus.

This year i nearly get as excited about selection night as much as game day. Last year it was drop a spud bring in a spud. Now even though we still arnt a great team, and will still cull big time, its getting harder and harder to think of replacements. Sheeze, we still have Connors, Jacko, Foley and Thursty waiting to come back in. :)

There's a big chance we'll have a down game like we did against Essendon, after the extremely taxing game last weekend, but there will still be positives to look for.

I just want the team to play 4qrts of football without any fade outs. If they are competitive and lose then I will be content with that. Beating St Kilda will be too hard.

Don't even dream of beating them unless McGuts wondrously knocks out Goddard, Montagna and Fisher in one fell swoop.

I just want to see us compete for four quarters, not necessarily no fadeouts (i.e. i understand they will burn us to timbuktu on all our inevitable turnovers and errors) but I just never want us to hang our heads and look out of it, basically, another team effort, backing each other and I'll be wrapt

.....also 5 goals to Griff and 10 for Riewoldt to start his run for the Coleman

If we start OK I have a feeling we will be in it for a long way...
If we however have a first qtr like we did against The Bombers well, I reckon it will be too hard to claw anything back & the tired legs will give way.

Matt Dea (foot) - indefinite
Nathan Foley (leg) - test

I know the injury list this year has been deplorable but no Ben Griffiths gives me hope, god he moves like a panther

On another note, WTF is with Dea's foot??? 3-4 Weeks has turned into indefinite?

Could well get smashed. Still going to be up and down for a good while yet. People expecting our improvement to come in nice and easy to follow, linear increments of 22 a year are simply fools.

Up in Sydney for work this week, and had to drive up. Not likely to be able to leave until some time Friday afternoon. Not sure whether I should leave asap and rush to get within radio coverage of the game (ie. Albury) by the start. or if I should bunk up for one more night in Sydney and wait for the game to come on TV at 11pm.

As usual, the result is not an issue, just hoping the guys take something from last week confidence wise and really back themselves. Wouldn't mind Griff missing for Simmo (purely for selfish reasons, so I don't miss seeing him play live), then he can come back for WC and try to keep his 100% win record in tact ;)

Not happy I can't be there...

Dea was at the Hobart Supporters function at the weekend. He's coping he will be right to play for Coburg in 2-3 weeks

Small victories? If any of those things happen I would be over the moon.

Matching Hayes? 10 marks and 2 goals for Griff? 5 for JR?

Maybe just lower your expectations. Especially about our chances of winning.

Sorry to intrude but if you know anybody up there with pay t.v.(A mate, pub or club) you should be able to watch the game live:thumbsu:
Wish you all the best for the game fellas, would love to see you win another game or 2 this year, say Collingwood or Carlton:)

As far as I can tell, it is on Fox Sports at 11pm and Ch7 at 11.30pm in Sydney. i think it may be on one of the Fox Main Event channels live, but the hotel doesn't provide that channel, and I doubt any pubs will have it on, since I assume there will be a rugby game on at the same time.

Cheers
