Love Douggie, but Chappelli is full of s**t

So hes had 2 goodish games out of 9. thats "barely fired a shot"
All of those have been in separate games. Three legitimately very good games (ton in Perth, 6-fa at Sydney along with a 47 and 32, 6-fa in Nottingham), two good games (87 at Lords, 52 and 42 at Cardiff) and four average to poor ones (1 and 28 on debut, 14 and 19 in Melbourne, duck at Birmingham and a DNB, 15 and 0 at the Oval with a 3-fa). Please also remember these were done as a 21 and 24 year old too.

No no it doesn’t count unless you’re scoring a century and taking 11 wickets every innings.

One thing in Chappell's favour is that he is doing commentary on the women's Twenty 20 tonight. It wouldn't have surprised me if he had thought women's cricket to be something he would avoid. Something I have always agreed with is Chappell's refusal to engage in those corny and cringe-worthy Channel 9 program promotions during cricket broadcasts.

If I was picking an Ashes team to play in England then Alderman and Waugh are a must. Alderman took 40+ wickets on consecutive tours, how does he not get in the top 25 players. 100 wickets in 17 tests at an average of 21.17. IN England he had 83 wickets in 12 tests at 19.34 - that's 7 wickets a test!

Nah man, those stats don't show how selfish Waugh is....

surprised no mention of Flintoff. His 2005 series was one of the all-time great Ashes performances.

Was downright awesome in that series.

I reckon he didn't disgrace himself in the 2006/07 tour and was the guy who tipped the ledger at the pointy end in '09. Yeah there's a bit of a mythical exaggeration to his exploits based upon his peaks, but I think there's no way he couldn't sneak into one of these lists.

These sort of lists that Warne and Chappelli come out with should really be called something like best 25 blokes rather than best 25 cricketers.

Actually, Walters also toured England in 1977, achieving 223 runs at 24.77, which makes Chappell's selection of him even more perplexing. Walters averaged 35.37 versus England in his entire career, but if you stick with his stats versus England since 1972, which is the starting point Chappell specified, Walters average versus England comes down to 27.58 from 20 Tests.
