Ibbotson was very poor in the first quarter. I couldn't remember who number 35 was, but he made a number of errors. Back to the WAFL for you, son.

Palmer and Mayne, however, MUST play next week. :thumbsu:

Ibbo strikes me as not being a particularly confident kid - the opposite of Palmer.

Give him at least a few games in a row so he starts to feel like he belongs and I'm tipping we'll see a big improvement.

I'll go along with that, back him in to keep taking the next step each week.

Ran around like headless chook....I can't see much upside for him, lacks footy nous, unsure of himself....a poor mans brett Peake..& the way Peakey is going at the moment...it doesn't say much for him!

Sorry:eek:

Whoa.. plugger..
My harsh judgement metre just when sky high..;)
He really isn't that bad.

I think we should certainly perservere with him. He has pace to burn and has skills. Sure he was a little caught out - but he will be better for the experience.
I can see the point some are saying that perhaps the derby next week isn't the best game for him to continue, with rather Richmond the following week a better option.

he should definitely play next week

its clear that this guy is lacking a bit of confidence, dropping him wont help, especially considering there were others worse than him

he needs a run in the senior team, say 3-4 weeks, then we can judge him better

Ibbo was just very nervous but it was obvious (to me anyway) that with some confidence, Ibbo will be a class player. Certainly will be better than Peake, McManus, etc.

I know what you're saying, Pinkus, but if you were going to drop one of the three inclusions from this week, it would have to be him. You've got to reward form. Therefore, I would expect him to go back to the WAFL.

Should play on the wing not half back when he was put on young in thrid Q curbed his influence becuase he was fast enough to go with him.

Should be kept in side for the next two weeks(both at Subi)

Why do we need to drop one of the inclusions from this week ?.

I think the vibe around here is that Tarrant and Peake are parked at the WAFL door, with Matty Carr deserving a free pass to the WAFL but maybe getting a reprieve because of his uses in the Derby.

I will also back Campbell for another week as he has earnt his promotion. For the Murphy fans it will only make Murph hungrier.

If we bring new players in, give them a fair go, at least 2 weeks.

Yeah, even I will agree to that esti. Mundy doesn't look urgent enough, but it looks like he can't sprint! Needs to play up forward, maybe shed some of that muscle, he's lost his agility that used to make him so dangerous 2 years ago. Some of our youngins that made us look so ready for the big time, have taken huge steps back. Its disappointing.

It's a bit of a worry when even David's Dad is critical of him.

;)

Ibbo should be given an extended run in place of Peake.

Drum for Tarrant - versatile enough I think. Campbell at least offered an option and clever hands off a few times. I was at the game (4th tier) and apart from his couple of stats don't recall seeing Tarrant being even anywhere near the ball!

Retain Carr for the derby.

Not even sure on Blacky coming back - he hasn't done alot recently.

2nd game of AFL footy, hasnt played a game for 2 weeks because he was emergency and he was almost best on ground in one of the NAB challenge hit outs, give the kid a break. he did give away a couple but atleast he got to the ball. any1 who thinks he doesnt want to be out there is DREAMING u dont train all day 6 days a week for something u dont want to be doing. any1 who says he looks slow is again DREAMING he's the fastest on the list.

Why,if he is not performing good enough then out.If he stays just because he lifts for the derby thats not a good enough reason.

You have a point but we do want to win the game and experience does count for something. I am ready to see him go but he is usually given shutdown job. Anyone know if he failed or not in that task this week?

Anyone can tag players if they have the stamina and pace, its when he has the ball he gives it away.He had no pressure on him and kicked it through for a point for them,he couldn't take a mark when he was in front and taller than his opponent and he is always too far behind when his player is running to space.Experience only counts when there are 2 players of equal ability fighting for the same spot.On the derby IMO Jcarr on Kerr was the matchup that got us the game not Mcarr on cousins.

As long as whoever comes in has some experience. If we retain the 3 boys for the derby I wouldn't want to be blooding another youngster.

Ibbo played a great game for his 2nd game of AFL footy. I'm wrapped with the kid and want to see more of him, preferably through the middle rather than playing in the defensive 50!
Yeah with 7 clangers and some pretty ordinary defensive efforts I'd love to see what qualified for a good game. Ibbo showed exactly the same kind of form he has always shown. I would be tempted to persist with him for 3-4 more games and then let him earn it. His intensity is still way off the mark.

I would prefer either Hinkley or BOB to get a run.

From where I was sitting Ibbo's error's and indecision to get rid of the ball early cost us 2 goals at a minimum. That's basically the game.

Harsh, his 7 clangers include frees against and there were at least two that were VERY VERY dodgy.

I dont really understand this comment though after two AFL games "Ibbo showed exactly the same kind of form he has always shown".
