Wise move. Get him primed for a top pre-season. Losing him and fish-pub just before the finals is a bugger but we can cover them I think.

Worked his way into career best form mid year but after missing this week again you just couldn't take a risk with him coming in for a grand final (assuming we make it). At least he's got a clear idea of his role in the team and can be ready for a full pre season.

The guy has some seriously freakish physical ability along with a beautiful long kick. hopefully he can go to another level again next yr

A higher leap than Fyfe? Fyfe's intercept mark against Geelong on our F 50 was an insane leap. It was as if he was getting boosted in a Wallaby Lineout. But yeah Ibbo is good, RTB appreciates as much stating many times he's important for us. Hopefully the Achilles is right and he's firing for pre season.

Just because he's taller doesn't always mean a better vertical leap.

Remember that a vertical lep test simply doesn't mean how high you can jump, its about the distance you get from pushing upwards using leg power from a standing position. Just because Fyfe plays well in the air, doesn't mean he has a higher "vertical leap" than Ibbo.
Fyfe might have a better running vertical jump though...

Bummer for Ibbo, I'm not surprised it eventually came down to surgery though. Good thing he'll be cherry ripe for next season along with Mora and Clancee! Our depth right now is actually awesome, in particular due to the 2011 draft
